Resonics: Revelations | by J. R. Calvo Sep. 24, 2010 | You set the price! | 19186 words | Sample 30% |
| Author bio: J. R. Calvo, a jack of all trades, was born the youngest of three in New Haven, CT. Weaned by trekkies and Star Wars, he became infatuated with science fiction as a young pup. His obsessions extend out to James O’Barr, and anything printed in comics. Throw in some Tolkien, Goodkind, Jordan, and Sanderson and the conundrum erupted. So Calvo journeyed down the Science Fantasy path to masterpieces like Dune. He began Resonics, in response to the most powerful question, Why not? Why not pit science against ‘magic’? Who would win in a fight a mech or a jedi? However, this is merely the backdrop. Resonics is foremost about the very real people. The villains who think they’re doing what’s best, the good guys drunk on their own legends, and the robotic centaur with a heart of gold… What? You never heard that one? Come and see. |

BLACK LILIES | by Nena Crowe Sep. 15, 2010 | $0.99 | 93695 words | Sample 35% |
| Author bio: I wanted to write about something that was personal to me, so when I realized that I had yet to read a story about gypsies, I thought it would be an interesting idea and started working on it. Black Lilies is a result of my own gypsy soul and wishful thinking in my own life. I hope everyone enjoys the story and is looking forward to the second book in the series, as much as I am. =) The story is about an old gyspy tale, about a young man who was passing through a gyspy village during a celebration. The gyspies, being peaceful people, invited the stranger to stay and join in the celebration; he accepted. The young man left the following morning but returned a few days later with demands that the gypsies refused to meet. So, as the story goes, he unleashed the fury of the dead upon them, revealing he was a necromancer. He cursed the people of the village, saying that for eternity they would be followed by the dead until they finally gave into his demands. This is why, according to the tale, that gypsies are now known as nomadic people. Traveling from place to place, forced to change locations when the curse of the dead has found them again. Enjoy Black Lilies, it takes old tale and gives it a new twist. |

Rea and Kip: Part 1 of The River Runs Through | by Kat Jaske Sep. 14, 2010 | $0.99 | 10050 words | Sample 27% |
| Author bio: Bonjour. I’m Kat Jaske. Las Vegas resident––well more precisely Henderson, Nevada, which is right next door • Runner – Helped my crosscountry team win state championship Ohio state championship (5-K race). I’m even more proud of the next year when our team placed fourth, but I ran a personal best State Course time of a little over 19 and a half minutes. • Fencer – Yes, with swords, especially sabers. You know, the musketeer thing. Or Zorro. • Singer • Active in church • Love my black cat, Minnesota • Writer – Historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, poems, articles, all sorts of items for students and parents Many of my ideas for writing or teaching come to me when I am running. Unfortunately, I can’t carry a journal with me, so I have to wait until I finish, walk in the door, and then grab a pencil and paper, or a computer, and put them down. I have always loved reading and writing, voraciously. Mom’s favorite story is about the time she had to punish me for something (which I am probably innocent of doing) by saying, “No reading. Do not go to your room. Sit here and watch TV.†I hated TV. Writing takes passion (a love of words in my opinion) and when you have that passion, it permeates everything. Word scrambles and other word games and puzzles and other thinking games are “coolâ€. I graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C. in three and a half years with a double major in English and Psychology. After working two years and saving every penny I could, I headed to France and spent two years studying there. Then returned to the U.S. to work a couple years before attending UNLV where I finished my Masters of Education and teaching certificate. Now I spend time teaching my students the finer points of the French language and culture, and encouraging them to read and write. |

The Stranger On Death Row | by Loretta B. Staley Sep. 13, 2010 | $1.65 | 65581 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Loretta Barnes Staley was born and raised in Evanston, Wyoming, a small town in Southwestern Wyoming. She was the sixth child in a family of nine children; all talented in the arts, especially music. Loretta was writing poems, songs and short stories by the age of twelve. Throughout a busy life of “ranchingâ€, then, later on, managing a motel that she and her husband purchased, raising three children, and helping with grandchildren, she continued (when she could find time) to “dabble†at writing. Many of her stories of adventure and mystery were inspired by her own experiences. Others were inspired by the interesting and strange lives of various people she knew as they traveled through her life. Now most of her time is spent writing and she has been encouraged by her friends and family to seek publication of her work -- some of it recent and some from long ago. Hoping that a few will read, and perhaps enjoy, some of her stories, she has done just that. This is just one of the many novels written by this author. All of her writings are considered “acceptable†for young adult and teen reading. A note from the editor Loretta passed away in 2006. Since then her family has continued to publish and promote the stories she loved so much to tell. Thanks for reading Moms books. We hope you enjoy them all! contact info: lystaley@yahoo.com |

| Author bio: The jewel you see glowing in the ring in my author photo isn't really a jewel at all. It is the crystallized tear of a real dragon. It hardened on its way down to land in a mess of troll corpses that the dragon was laying on. My grandfather died before I was born, but the ring was given to me by my mother after my grandmother recently died. My grandfather had apparently won the ring in a poker game near the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma sometime in the early 1900's. It has been a boon to me, the magic of the teardrop, for it brought you here didn't it? Now treat yourself to something fantastic and try out the free sample of one of my novels.
