Extreme Malice by Ray Swirsky Extreme Malice by Ray Swirsky Feb. 06, 2012 $3.99 56678 words Sample 40%
Author bio:
Born in 1960 in the small town of Kimberley in British Columbia, Ray has always been a great fan and participant in the field of the arts. After moving to Calgary in the early eighties to attend technical college, Ray began to indulge in many fields of the arts from painting, photography and writing. Ray never began his writing career until he was in his early forties and has since authored a number of books; His first book, The Bluffington Four is already available at amazon.com and numerous other online retailers all over the world. The Cabinet (A wolf's Tale) is a short, written in simple prose. Some may enjoy this short read, some may not, as the writing style is meant to be awkward and sometimes simple. Just released this February 2012 is Ray's first murder mystery novel, Extreme Malice. If you could create the perfect murder and get away with it, would you? A young university student is charged with murder. His guitar string is wrapped around her neck. His shoe prints are left at the scene. Her earrings found under his bed. Her husband hundreds of miles away. But what really happened...? Ray is working on two more novels. The first is about a disfunctional family struggling with the fallout after both parents suddenly pass away and a fight over the assets ensues, eventually uncovering the possibility that one of the deaths was no accident. Release date fall 2012. The second novel also due to be released in the fall of 2012 covers the circumstances of two young boys who savagely murder their parents. The boys plead gulity to what they've done but will not reveal why. The two soon escape the detention centre and the hunt is on for the two as they seek shelter and cover in the forests along the Rocky Mountains as they fight their way back to their home in Bluffington where the murders took occurred. What really happened in that house and why were the boys so determined to go back to that house at all costs? If reading fiction novels with a bit of sci fi, mystery, and romance appeals to you, then I hope you take the opportunity to enjoy The Bluffington Four. If it's detective murder stories, then Extreme Malice is a much faster paced novel but still a warning for some content may be disturbing to some readers. I am also sure Ray would love to hear any feedback that you would care to offer.

"I believe in family caregiving. The truth is love is never enough to get you through the experience. You also need tools to help you give the right kind of care and to avoid caregiver burnout. An educated caregiver is a care manager, with resources and support. Good family care is about making your loved one as active, independent, and comfortable as possible. It makes your job easier because your loved one is more engaged in the care plan. It's important for every caregiver to still maintain goals, hopes and dreams. You should never give up yourself completely to the care. Balance is key."

I used to be cute once! Now I'm 56 and I live in Thailand. I've had an odd and varied life. I've held jobs varying from manager of a self-storage facility in London to owner of a small museum in Tennessee. I've lived in many places and enjoyed travelling around. Now I'm semi-retired and write to put a crust of bread on my plate. I have written many short stories and edited many newsletters and society publications. This is the first full-length novel I've attempted, and I hope it won't be the last. The one lesson I've learned from this is not to trust your characters. They really live. Let me quickly tell you the story of Doris, Logan's Mom. She started life in the first draft as a man. He simply answered the telephone, put the call from Mike through to Ronald McMurtry and exited the story. Then he demanded a larger part. Soon he became Doris, and had a speaking role. When Mike decided he wanted to talk to McMurtry, he went to the office and found Doris. I did not write her into that role, show wrote herself. Mike had to go back, re-write where he bought a bunch of flowers and meet her again. She did appreciate the flowers. After a bit, I found she had a 'son', and the character of Logan was born. He was not in the original draft at all. From that moment on, Logan's own role became central. You've read the result. However, I swear Doris and Logan wrote themselves into the book. It was not my doing. The characters live. They really do, and they grow with the story. I loved that. You may find some of them re-appear in later books. I have a story to write about Logan, if he'll let me, and by popular demand, there's the life of Tom in 33AD. He has a lot of travel to undertake despite the fact he's an old man.

I was born July 26, 1940 in Seymour, Texas, located in West Texas . From an early age, I was a voracious reader, this most likely due to my mother reading exciting stories to me as a baby. By age 10, I had found all of the old classics. By age 12 I had found science fiction and was fascinated by the possibilities the sci-fi writers gave a young reader. As I became a teenager, I discovered Mickey Spillane and was hooked on the tough-guy private eye. It wasn't until the early 1960s that a friend turned me on to Edgar Rice Burroughs, and from there to Doc Savage and the many pulp heroes of the 1930s and 1940s. I loved to read, and eventually turned to writing. My first fiction novel was Gryphon Double Novel #23, published by Gryphon Books (Gary Lovisi) in New York. This contained two short novels in my created series, The Masked Avenger: "Dark Streets of Doom" and "Crime's Last Stand." Gryphon Double Novel #23 was published in January 2001. Second would be "Jur: A Story of Pre-dawn Earth" with James Reasoner, published by Novel Books Inc. (NBI), July 3rd, 2002. My third novel is "Savage Land of Jur", published by NBI, November 28th, 2002. My nonfiction books include the following: "Secret Agent X: A History" with Will Murray, 1980; "From Shadow to Superman", 1991; "The History of the Purple Wars" (as by Harrison Stievers), 1991; "The Green Ghost," 1991; "The Black Bat", 1990; "Dan Fowler: Ace of the G-Men", 1997; "The Original Masked Marvel, 1996. In addition , I have been involved in several other anthologies: Mike Cook's "Monthly Murders" in 1982; and Mike Cook's "Mystery, Detective, And Espionage Magazines" in 1983. I have assisted in several other anthologies without credit. The Masked Avenger, The Black Ghost, and Stuanofu are my creations, which I hope to see in anthologies some day. I have also written some short story fiction.

That was satisfying, to a degree, but could not satisfy like a novel. Finally, during a period spent recuperating from a medical issue, time was available. I wrote until a tall, neat, stack of paper sat on my desk. I titled those pages "Contaminated."

Author bio:
Alice Haro is a highly accomplished and lifelong writer. As a professional journalist, copywriter and general word-smith, she likes to think that words bend to her will and dance on demand. But, of course they don't; she quite often has to wrestle them into submission, as do most writers if they are honest. Dropouts is her first full length published novel, however, there are two other books currently awaiting editorial attention, which she hope to unleash on the world in the next few months. Alice goes to great lengths to carefully research her work, so that you get a genuine and believable experience as a reader.
Silent Victor by J. Daniel Sawyer Silent Victor by J. Daniel Sawyer Feb. 02, 2012 $4.95 119372 words Sample 30%
Author bio:
J. Daniel Sawyer is a hat-wearing, obsessive-compulsive autodidact attempting to write his way out of the loony bin. A self-aggrandizing science fiction and fantasy author who publishes lurid stories and, worse, the occasional popular philosophy article, he is also a very minor authority on Open Source media production (a topic on which he is, unfortunately, published regularly in LinuxJournal). In addition to his wanton abuse of the printed word, he unscrupulously uses his decade-long experience as an audio and video producer with his painfully florid and gritty writing style to create deeply immersive audio universes. This habit, which he indulges in public, has garnered him seven Parsec nominations and helped him make his first professional fiction and philosophy sales (a trend which, for the good of the world at large, we can only hope abates soon). Meanwhile, his growing, rabid fan-base is currently plotting to imprison him and force him to produce endless new literary abominations for their amusement. We can only hope they succeed. Should you be so inclined, you can communicate with this shady character, as well as find podcasts, articles, and other literary abominations at http://www.jdsawyer.net
