I took great pleasure in writing Destiny's Warriors. Celt myth and the wonderment of Pagan gods sent me on a journey that took 17 years to write all ten novels in the series. The brutality of human sacrifice to appease the gods is a part of history that is horrific. And, the idea of Gods having to deal with the same emotional issues as mortal man was fascinating for me to create. This wonderful journey into mystical realms guided me to continue and finish the saga. I tell of enchanted warriors, mystical creatures and monsters such as Crimson Death and Banshees. The struggle to survive, heartache, betrayal and rivalry are what my characters have to face in this fantasy. You'll cry, cringe in fear and feel in awe at the romance as you read my tale. I hope you enjoy reading Destiny's Warriors. May a Rainbow be your guide down destiny's path. R. M. Putnam

I wrote my first award-winning story in 4th Grade, titled “The human bean.” It wasn’t a play on words. Intending to write a profound piece about the human condition, it turns out I wrote a mutant story about a human/legume crossbreed. (Curse you, phonics!) Now I write from the unique perspective of being born and raised on a cattle ranch in Texas while attending University in Missoula, Montana, thus spawning the world’s most self-proclaimed redneck granola. The years in between haven’t improved my spelling, but they’ve created a hell of a human bean. My first book, Tainted Love: God, Sex and Relationships for the Not-so-pure-at-heart (written from all my soiled experiences) was published in 2002 by InterVarsity Press. After several years of retooling myself as a novelist (by drinking more and making less money) I reemerged in 2009 with the concept for Reeferpunk. My lovely wife and I adopted our first child from Vietnam and recently produced a second boy through more traditional means. When not spinning genius into the aethernet I obsess over home wine making, earthen construction, gardening, social justice, ultimate Frisbee and the promotion of industrial hemp. Last Hope, Book One: Onslaught by Drew Brown Last Hope, Book One: Onslaught by Drew Brown May 18, 2012 $3.99 80444 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
I was born in 1981, the first child of David and Catherine, although it wasn’t long before I had a sister, Natalie. We grew up in a small Bedfordshire town, about thirty-minutes drive from London, and I spent my days jaunting between various sports fields and the nearby woods, where fun and adventure were never far away. The first book I remember wanting to read was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, and I’m embarrassed to say the school-library copy is still on my bookshelf. As a nine-year-old I think the story was somewhat lost on me, but the pictures were very cool. My love of horror, sci-fi and films with lots of action goes back as long as I can remember, and undoubtedly stems from my mum, who is similarly afflicted with a soft-spot for anything on the telly that goes bang or makes her jump. Some of my fondest childhood memories are staying up late on a Saturday night to watch a James Bond or Schwarzenegger film with my parents on either side of me. I have my own sofa now, but I’m still channel hopping to find the same thrill! It’s the horror genre that I find most captivating and I watched, read and played within it as much as I could growing up. During my teenage years, with the release of the Resident Evil 2 video game, I found a particular fondness for zombies that has stayed with me ever since. There is something about the duality of a recognisable world filled with the stuff of nightmares that resonates with me as much now as it did then. In fact, as life progresses, and I’ve made the gradual (and sometimes reluctant!) change from carefree-teen to responsible adult, the thought of such events is even more terrifying… My life changed when I met Serena in 2001, and I’m proud to say we married three-and-a-half years later in 2004. Without her love and support, I’m not sure where I’d be now. In 2009 we were blessed with the birth of our son, Luke. He came home for the first time on the morning of my twenty-eighth birthday. When I’m away from work I still enjoy various sports and I have a masochistic streak for undertaking DIY projects that I should probably leave to someone else. For the record, I don’t regret the week that Serena and Luke had to move out because we had no running water while I put down a new floor in the bathroom. Perhaps I simply like to see Serena’s wide-eyed expression when I utter the now dreaded words: “I reckon I could do…” Should you wish to contact me about my work, I’d be more than happy to hear from you: drew_brown@live.com

Author bio:
The author, M.E. Brines, spent the Cold War assembling atomic artillery shells and preparing to unleash the Apocalypse (and has a medal to prove it.) But when peace broke out, he turned his fevered, paranoid imagination to other pursuits. Designer of more than twenty sci-fi wargames and The Struggle of Nations play-by-e-mail game (all available at www.MEBrines.com) he spends his spare time scribbling another steampunk romance occult adventure novel, which despite certain rumors absolutely DOES NOT involve time-traveling Nazi vampires! A member of the British Society for Psychical Research, he is a long-time student of the occult, a committed Christian*, and author of two dozen books, e-books, chapbooks and pamphlets on esoteric subjects such as Alien Abduction, Alien Hybrids, UFOs, Conspiracies, Mind Control the Falun Gong, esoteric Nazism, the Knights Templar, astrology, magick, the Bible, the spear of Longinius and Christian discipleship. His work has also appeared in Challenge magazine, The Traveller Chronicle, Midnight Times, The Outer Darkness, Tales of the Talisman, and The Willows magazine. *I'm often asked how I square Christianity and "messing around" with the occult, as if I'm partial to bestial things with a goat under the amber light of the moon or something. No so. I'm a student, in the same way I used to study Soviet weapons and tactics back when I was a US Army officer. This gives my work a unique perspective no matter what your belief system. I don't judge, just present the information and let the reader decide.

In Poe's Shadow by A. W. & Jennifer Gifford In Poe's Shadow by A. W. & Jennifer Gifford May 16, 2012 $2.99 44050 words Sample 5%
Author bio:
Many of A. W. Gifford’s story ideas come from the nightmares of his wife, Jennifer. Though she too is a writer of dark fiction, she will never write these stories herself, fearing that if she does, they will come true. He is the editor of the dark fiction magazine Bête Noire and his work has appeared in numerous magazines, webzines and anthologies. Though he grew up in the northern suburbs of Detroit, he now resides outside of Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, two dogs, Reagan and Riley, and a pride of cats. Jennifer Gifford has always had a fascination with the dark and humorous side of fiction. She hates creepy old dolls, spiders, and garden gnomes. The inspiration for her stories strikes her in the oddest of places from an elevator, walking in class, even in the shower. She loves to read, to cook, and loves horror movies. In turn, her nightmares are often the basis for her husband's stories, because she fears that writing her own nightmares will make them come true. Jennifer has been writing for almost two decades, and spends her time in three states: Georgia , Michigan , and panicked.

It turned out, however, that most of these places were quite horrible and to control my nightmares and started to write stories in which I conquered the evil. Now I believe my writing has matured to a level, where I would very much love to share what I write. Some is horrible, some violent and some might be disturbing. My primary genres are SciFi and horror but I sometimes run off to other places. My first novella, "One Too Many" is out now, soon to be followed by my first novel, "The Tournament". "One Too Many" is a noir detective story with a twist of something else, while "The Tournament" is SciFi.
