A man of few words... | by Spargo Postle Oct. 28, 2010 | Free! | 319 words | Sample 100% |
| Author bio: Spargo Postle has roamed and meandered his way through life watching and listening to the nations of people that exist around him. Thoughts & Emotion was the first set of poems to be published and was created as Spargo realised that we all have similar Thoughts and Emotion whilst we encounter a myriad of experiences. Why Don't You See Me is drawn from the loneliness witnessed in the people Spargo sees all around his world. Being lonely, or simply withdrawn, seems to be considered as an unseen virus that few people dare to speak out about else they become infected. Spargo Postle feels that poetry is no more than capturing a string of thoughts onto paper, so feel free to leave your thoughts in a review. But then if you would rather just read his work and browse on by, so be it. |

Hostile Witness | by Nell Peters Nov. 29, 2011 | Free! | 105644 words | Sample 15% |
| Author bio: Hi! My real name is Anne, with a double-barrelled surname, so I use a much shorter pen name, courtesy my parents' Christian names. And no, my dad is not called Nell. I've always written, in one form or another - I just love it. Because I enjoy writing crime, I went back to uni to read psychology and sociology, hoping to give my plots and characterisation a bit of an edge. I may hold some sort of record for most ancient student on campus. My protagonist, Rose Huntingford (Double You and sequel Santa's Slays) takes her name from my paternal great grandmother, who was illegitimate, born in a workhouse in 1876. Nowadays, it is almost impossible to image how poor she and her mother (Rosa) would have been. But Rose must have been quite a lady - she pulled herself up by the bootstraps and married a rich landowner. That sort of social mobility was very rare indeed for the time. I hope she'd approve of 'my' Rose. Incidentally, her son (my grandfather, obv.) lied about his age to become a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I - so, I have two acts that are pretty hard to follow. Must try harder! I live in Norfolk (UK) with my husband, an artist, plus our two youngest boys (of four!) Thanks for dropping by! |

How to Escape the Medical Debt Trap | by Claire Moylan Nov. 09, 2011 | You set the price! | 11280 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: You Are a Writer “Why can’t you write like she does? It is not even her first language!†My fifth grade Portuguese teacher was scolding the class after reading my paper out loud. The assignment had been to describe a spring day. After she finished reading it, the class audibly sighed as I got more and more uncomfortable. She knew I was a writer. The class knew I was a writer. It was only I that lacked that confidence. Besides, my parents told me I would starve if I chose writing as a profession. So, I chose engineering instead. It wasn’t until the economy crashed that I discovered the true worth of my writing. It was the single thing that kept me afloat when no other jobs were to be found. I had found my calling, even though it had always been there. I had just chosen otherwise, for a time. It would have been far easier on me, if I had just embraced my calling earlier. I think that is true of most of us. We all have something special to share about ourselves, but we’re afraid we can’t express it properly. If you think there is something you want to express and can’t find the words, just email me at Moylan.claire260 at gmail dot com. I know how to take even the most disparate concepts and weave them into an inspiring and engaging story for others. Claire Moylan has been a freelance writer since 2006. She holds a Master’s in Transpersonal Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Engineering. Claire has lived in many places, including: Brazil, Africa, Mexico, and nearly all 50 states in the United States. She hated traveling for quite a long time, but now wants to travel again. She owns a cat called Shakespeare who tells her to lighten up all the time and insists that nothing is so serious that a good game of kitty tag won’t solve. People think Claire is funny, but most of the time she is just being herself and can’t help it. |

Cemetery of the Living Dead | by Drac Von Stoller Jan. 26, 2012 | Free! | 659 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Drac Von Stoller's imagination and fascination for the Horror genre began when he was a little boy watching his favorite actors such as Vincent Price, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi on his little black and white television alone in his dark room. Drac would watch these horror movies for hours and build model kits of his favorite characters like Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein and even the Munster's car from his favorite television series. Then as time went on and nothing was left to the imagination in the new horror movies, Drac still loved watching the old movies he so loved as a little boy. Then as Drac became an adult he decided one day that he would write a short story in the horror genre and let some of his friends read it and see what they thought. Drac's first short story was titled "Death in the Wilderness," which would be considered flash fiction but this would be Drac's test to see if he was destined to be an author. Sure enough when people read "Death in the Wilderness" they loved it but couldn't understand why Drac didn't keep on with the story but Drac knew all along that if what they read was so good then Drac has succeeded. This gave Drac the confidence he needed to keep on writing more and more short stories. The rest is history Drac has now written 31 short stories in the course of a 2 year span. Drac doesn't want to write a story unless it moves him in a way that he would want to read his own work and say any horror or ghost fan would not be disappointed. |

The Tale of the Wind and the Rain | by Apollonia Castal Sep. 06, 2011 | You set the price! | 833 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: The Journey Began with Pip the Dragon When I was seven years old, a high school concert band came to my elementary school to give a concert. Although us little tykes were obliged to sit crossed legged on the cold of the gym floor, once the band began to play I was transported. I closed my eyes and let the music wash over me, and for the first time in my life I watched as stories appeared before my mind’s eye. I was introduced to a dragon named Pip, and as the music played, I became privy to her many adventures. It was not until two years later that I put pen to paper and wrote out Pip’s epic dramas, but in the meantime I entertained my younger brother and sister with tales of her exploits. As I grew, Pip grew with me, her world evolving from a fantastical island located somewhere off the coast of British Columbia to a country, and finally into an entire world called Omorbia. I never did stop listening to music, and so Pip’s adventures, which morphed gradually into the Tales of Omorbia, also evolved. And although Pip is no longer a main character in many of those Tales, she still has a major part to play in the fate of the world of fantasy. Because the Tales have been, from their genesis, so richly visual in nature, here I introduce you to my world through short videos. The Tales will, once a number of them have been amassed, be turned into an eBook for your perusal. In the meantime, allow yourself to become lost in Omorbia. |

Building Your Own Computer. No Frills, No Filler, Just Answers. | by David Majlak May 04, 2011 | You set the price! | 18618 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Before you begin, if you've purchased any of my works, thank you so, so much. I really hope you enjoy the creativity and effort i've (tried to) put into making it the best that I can as food for the soul and the mind as a sort of escape. I sincerely appreciate your patronage, whether it's worth anything or if it was free, all the same. I enjoy putting custom computers together, video games, my mom, my wife, my dog, and learning useful information. I'm very good with accomplishing tasks despite not having the proper tools for the job. I do not like bees, spiders touching me, poison ivy, hearing Congress making illogical decisions, when my wife yells at me, when my mom yells at me, when my dog pees inside on the carpet, or when my computer crashes on me. I have a great sense of humor, a fine amount of wit, and use sarcasm very well. I also despise reality TV shows because my wife dominates the TV with them. I am friendly, understanding, and quite hospitable. I've never been in a fistfight, an accident, or on a plane. I'm also an expecting father. I'm also an expecting father a hair away from poverty. If I wasn't, I would most likely have a physical copy of my own books :) I wish I had the money to perform beneficial works to society for nothing in return, I wish I could paint and read and study and meditate all day, and I wish I could share the more important aspects of life with everyone. |

Coma Story | by Stephen Manoj Thompson Aug. 14, 2010 | You set the price! | 69246 words | Sample 6% |
| Author bio: Stephen Manoj Thompson, Ph.D., is the author of "Land of Opportunity Forever", a book critically acclaimed for its timely articulation of the reasoning and fix for our modern economic and social miscalculation. Thompson is an IT techie by profession and dwells in the Show-Me State. He was many other things before he bacame a writer. He has travelled the globe extensively and his in-depth understanding about different cultures is indeed modish. Thompson is also a committed advocate who speaks regularly about high-school dropout issues. The one thing Thompson dislikes is political correctness being taken too far. "Erosion of common-sense starts from PC," he affirms. His favorite pastimes include spending time with his family, research, golf and car shows. Thompson is passionate about helping people. It’s this passion that helped him to craft Coma Story - his first fiction, covering the lives of a particular geographic location and incorporating historical facts into the story. Being a natural social writer, he shows the universe how to make a fresh start with any situation. However, Thompson is not shy about unpleasant details - in fact his raw and unapologetic point of view makes Coma Story a highly captivating read. |

Elder Wolf | by S.L. Armstrong Dec. 27, 2009 | You set the price! | 6656 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: S.L. Armstrong has been writing for as long as she can remember. Art and reading have played a large part in her life since young childhood, but around fourteen, writing became her passion. Voraciously consuming every book in front of her opened up hundreds of worlds in her head, and she soon wanted to create worlds for other people as well. She has a particular fondness for gothic horror, horror, high fantasy, urban fantasy, and romance novels. The authors she turns to time and again are Stephen King, L.J. Smith, V.C. Andrews, R.L. Stine, and Anne Rice, among others. She has no shame in picking up the young adult novels she loved as a child, and she will talk your ear off about grammar and punctuation. After she married her husband almost thirteen years ago, she began to truly delve into the world of writing for public consumption. It was sheer chance that she stumbled on M/M fanfiction, and she's not looked back. Though fanfiction will always have a fond place in her heart, she soon grew tired of playing in other people's sandboxes. When she discovered M/M romance, and how it was now a legitimate branch of romance writing, she knew her course. S.L. plans to release F/F, M/M, M/F, and multiple partner books as she continues her writing career. M/M romance is where her heart lies, no matter what else she may write or read, and it's where she keeps returning to. There is something about two men passionately in love that just makes her heart melt, and she has no intention of giving that up anytime soon. S.L. Armstrong lives in Florida with her husband, two dogs, and seven cats. She hates the heat and longs for a northern, snowy climate. She writes with K. Piet on a number of projects, but she also writes her own solitary titles as well. S.L. Armstrong owns Storm Moon Press LLC along with her husband and K. Piet, and she is proud of all they accomplish with the micro press. |
