Preface
The basic premise of this volume is to reassure the reader that although there are many dire predictions for the year 2012, there is nothing whatsoever to fear, NOTHING. Each and every individual is within the care of a Universe that loves each and every one of us with an unconditional love. The care that is bestowed upon each individual is beyond estimate; no matter what is happening in the world around us. We are protected; and we can become aware of that protection to such an extent that not a moment of dread enters our consciousness. This volume speaks of strengthening the consciousness of safety and grace within each individual. When we commit our consciousness to its natural expansion, this provides the safety and harmony that keeps harm well away from where we live. Naturally, with the cosmic alignment of our sun with the great central sun at the center of our galaxy, nature will begin a realignment that may seem to be harmful. No individual will be harmed, not in the essence of who we are.
Because we are not our bodies, or our minds, but are souls on an eternal journey, nothing that happens in the physical environment, which includes our bodies, can cause us harm. We may choose to lay down the body in the transition that we are experiencing; but because we are eternal beings, we ourselves cannot be harmed. This is the assurance from all the sacred writings on the planet and supports the faith to which most believers in religion adhere.
This volume gives the reader a glimpse of the grandeur of each individual and puts in the hands of each one the tools to exploit that grandeur. The exploration of the intimate aspects of the human soul, or the higher self, gives you, the reader, and a large measure of control over the experiences that come your way. It has been said that there is only one thing that an individual can control in any circumstance, that thing is the response given to events. A response of fear is as powerful as one of acceptance rooted in love. The latter brings peace while the former causes pain. Most of us want peace; therefore the tools in this volume are intended to enable those who practice them a path to peace and inner tranquility.
“God sleeps in the minerals, awakens in plants, walks in animals, and thinks in man,” Arthur Young. A good paraphrase of this could be; “God sleeps in the minerals; dreams in the plants; thinks in the animals; and AWAKENS in man.” The 2012 explosion is the dramatic awakening of God in the hearts and minds of many people almost all at once. Your personal awakening is why you are reading this volume.
The very dire predictions concerning the year 2012 may or may not come true. We are free to accept that we will be within the throes of these cataclysmic events if they occur; or we will be safe. To choose safety is to choose to believe that there is a Cosmic plan for planet earth and humanity; it is to choose to believe that the great plan includes you; and that your part can and will be done. With the grand cosmic plan in mind, you are invited to learn more about ‘who’ and ‘what’ you are and follow a path of infinite peace.

Chapter 1
YOU ARE THE MASTER
There was a man who lived many, many years ago. This man was quite ordinary in the normal scheme of things, but he was moved by a very powerful force to marry a particular woman. He pursued her with all that was in him, and eventually won her heart. They married and had a son. While this son was growing into manhood, another woman cast her eyes on yet another man. Don't let all these men confuse you; there is a point to the story of the lives of these very diverse people. This woman was full of wiles and eventually she snared her man, again obeying a force that was powerful and imperative. They married and had a daughter. These two people, the son of the one couple and the daughter of the other, you know as your parents. The powerful force drawing these six diverse people together into what you now know as your family was YOU. You needed certain genes, a particular type of body, specific economic strata, a town, a nation, a world at this particular stage of development, and a finely orchestrated set of circumstances in which to grow from babe to adulthood. With this in mind, you called out to these seemingly diverse people, bound them together into a cohesive structure, to provide you with what you needed to be who you are at this particular moment. The memories you have, the bents and proclivities that are so uniquely your own, were all intended from the very start of your stay on this planet to be exactly as they are. You were, and are, the intender of the grand events you call your life. The color of your eyes, your height, your skin color, your circle of friends were all intended by you before you even entered this particular incarnation.
Meanwhile in the broad sweep of history, ships had to be built, planes constructed, families migrate, people die, houses burn, communities formed while other dissolved, earthquakes and storms sweep lands and sea, governors elected, presidents die, nations formed, slaves bought and sold, and many crops harvested; all to provide you with the particular world in which to play out your life. All of this had to happen in time and space for you to be here; and for you to get a glimpse of, and understand, the very powerful forces at work in your life. It is no accident that you are reading this book. Life is calling you to fulfill the noble patterns you set in motion eons ago for this time in the cycles of the universe. That is a small measure of who you are. Ultimately you will discover that you are even more grand and elegant than even this short list of attributes ascribed to your soul and its thrust to manifest its beauty and the glory of love available on this planet we call earth.
I bet you were thinking that you are just a human being, with many frailties, who had no great role to play in the grand scheme of things. Ah, but you are not. You are a being so vital, that mountains had to be moved to provide you with just the right vehicle for what you are capable of expressing today. No other human being on the face of this earth is able to express the grandeur of life the way you can. You are extremely unique. This is not a testament to your ego, as in no way does the forgoing imply specialness in the usual sense of that word. But it is, and remains, the truth about you. There have been many movies and books which have taken up the theme of the value of one human being, and how the world would not be the same without that particular human being. (A Wonderful Life is one of those.) However, they are only the tip of a very big iceberg. It is true of every human being on the face of this earth that their role in the evolution of the planet is unique and vital. Every one of us is so vital that without any single individual the whole thing, the entire kit and caboodle, would collapse and a whole new universe created to accommodate such an important absence. The Great Creator in infinite wisdom deemed it so, and for that we can all be very grateful.
Who we are is infinitely greater than the bodies we wear, our minds, our emotions, the roles we play from birth to death, how other people in our lives see us; or even how we see ourselves. We are so important, it cannot be said often enough; that each and every one of us is inordinately valuable. This value does not rest solely on what we can contribute to society, as we have been taught; but is an indispensable part of the whole wide universe. When creation, as we know it, was contemplated; we were as much a part of that contemplation as say the legs on a table are to a carpenter. That ought to give us reason enough to be the best person we can possible be in all circumstances, and not “sweat the small stuff” as we are wont to do more often than not.
In religion, we are told that God is love; and that this God loves us. In our daily lives, we fail to see how this love translates into the minor and major events we experience. The premise here is that you are a vital part of the creative and the creation process; and that indeed you create the world in which you live on an on-going basis. How this is done will be discussed in the next chapter. The world in which you live is not static with events carved in stone, but is an organic, plastic, mutable, enterprise which you and you alone can change. You created your world by the beliefs you hold; and the means to change that world, providing you are dissatisfied with any aspect of it, is in your hands as well, or better put it is in your mind, your consciousness.
The manner in which you created your world was learned at the very beginning of your stay on the planet. That is how this plane of Consciousness works. We come in, we get some tools, and we immediately go to work using those tools to create our intimate environment. There is no slack time, no real time off, no breaks, no vacations, no sick time, and no time outs; we begin creating from the very start. We are supposed to enjoy every minute of the creating process in which we are so actively engaged. However, the tools we acquired in the first few years, of our stay on the planet, were never intended to crystallize into the only tools we use. Another of the manner in which this plane functions, is that we use the early tools to create like unto those who handed them to us; our parents, family and immediate circle of friends. After we acquired a certain level of maturity, we learn to look upon the results of what we have created, and if we are not well pleased with those results, we change the early tools and create a whole new set of tools to alter our circumstances. All this is supposed to be done in joy. Joy is the ultimate, and only, requirement for being human. Instead, ninety nine point nine percent of us keep using the tools we acquired at age three and four, and wonder why our lives are not working the way we want them to work. We have lives that have outgrown our tools; thus we need to change those tools.
So how do we get new tools, and what are those famous tools anyway? The tools to which we refer are the tools of consciousness. Like any other mechanism of which we are familiar, consciousness have tools to make it work; and our consciousness works every day of our lives on this plane. Ignorance of the processes, used by consciousness, does not stop it from working. Under every law, universal or human ignorance is no excuse. What ignorance does is produce results with which we are not always pleased. The tools are our constant thoughts, with emphasis on ‘the constant’, as an occasional thought in any given area does not instantly produce the result of that thought. The constant thought is the product of the true belief; and that is what produces events, people, and circumstances in our experience. Not chance, not some blind fate, not a vengeful God, not your parents, brothers, sisters, and best friend, but your constant thoughts produce your life, and nothing more. In other words you are the author of our life experience, period. Life is produced by the beliefs we hold, and the constant thoughts we have are the manner in which we reinforce those beliefs. Since cause is within us, events and circumstances faithfully picture our beliefs. This is done so that we may see with our eyes, and feel with our emotions, exactly what we are in the process of creating. In other words, the world in which you live is a learning devise.
There you are living what you term a normal life, and one day out of nowhere a series of accidents happen. First some fool could not wait for the light to change, or ran the light, (you call it), and hit your car, causing you to be late for work and make many visits to the chiropractor. As if that were not enough, you burned yourself making toast, and the neighbor’s cat scratched you the other day. Did you ever think accidents just happen? How can it be said that you caused all that? Here's how. Did you hear and perhaps repeat that accidents happen and there is nothing you can do about it? How much space you give to the accidents you pass on the road, or read of in the paper, or hear repeated and repeated on television? All of that thinking about accidents reinforces your belief that accidents happen, the end result is accidents happen to you. That is the function of consciousness, to produce that which you believe. Like every other belief you hold about how the world functions, accidents don't always happen and they can be eliminated from your immediate experience altogether. That's one of the early tools you can gleefully throw away, and now.
So the beliefs you have in illness, health, wealth, relationships, success, failure, body size, foods, money, race, beauty, love, mating, garbage, storms, time, are all manifested faithfully by your consciousness within your world for you to experience. This is done so that you may take a look at what you are creating, keep what you enjoy, and discard what you do not prefer to continue to experience. The beauty of this is that it works every time, because that is how this plane of Consciousness is designed to work. In other words that is the law. No one outside of yourself is ever able to impose anything on you. That is an important statement, and deserves thought. No feelings of love, joy, resentment, anger, peace, boredom, loneliness, grief, happiness, friendliness, or any other feeling can be thrust upon you. You choose those feelings, and you do so by the beliefs you hold, buttressed by the constant thoughts you hold. The images that come to your mind which you entertain hour after hour produce results. So now you know. You are a powerful being, endowed by the Great Creator with the inalienable right to create the world in which you live. As a matter of fact you have been creating it from day one. Because that creation is done in concert with the rest of the inhabitants on the planet earth, we are taking about changing how the world operates, beginning with you.
The limits that are placed upon you are the ones you accept and hold. The moment you begin to realize that the cause of your world is within you, is the moment you can begin to change that world. On the other hand, if the world in which you are living is perfect as far as you are concerned, then merely continue to think and do as you have always done; and that state of grace will continue. That too is a function of consciousness. However, most folks believe there are improvements that can be made in their circumstance. If that is true of you, then the ensuing chapters will give you some of the tools of the consciousness that you are now using, albeit unwittingly; and allow you to make significant changes in your world. With conscious intent these tools may be used to change any unsatisfactory situation.
You are an unlimited being, living in a body upon which you have focused all your attention until this moment. This same attention is capable of changing the shape of that body, where it lives, how much fun it has, how it feels, the state of its health, and the people with which it interacts. All this is possible, not merely with positive thinking, because you have tried that and it only works some of the time; but with joyful effort to effect the change in the only place where it must be done; in your consciousness, your belief system. This is to be done with conscious and joyous intent, but never with strain. Your moments flow effortlessly out of who you are now. Thus when attention is given to the beliefs that are held, the mere idea of doing so brings changes to those beliefs. Consciousness, your consciousness, is a very flexible thing; its greatest desire is to expand. Attention, to whatever degree, to the mechanics of consciousness expands that consciousness.
You don’t have to wait for some distant time to enjoy your life every moment. The power of enjoyment is within you right now. It has always been yours to wield. When you are in an experience; and that sublime sense of joy washes over you; and you wish it could go on forever, do you ever say why does this have to end? The experience may end, but the joy does not have to end. That joy is an essential part of your very nature, brought in with you at birth and is yours to have whenever you choose; whatever the circumstances. It is for you to know this and reinforce it within your consciousness by giving it as much space as it needs to be so for you. I kid you not. You can do this and delight yourself in the joy that is your birthright. No one can make you sad, or happy. Only you can do that. So with these thoughts in your mind, follow now the steps outlined below to expand your consciousness, and watch your world abound with delight. It’s up to you.
GENERAL EXERCISES TO EXPAND CONSCIOUSNESS
Perform a self nurturing act every day, sometimes twice per day. That means do something every day that helps you to feel loved.
Tone the ‘OOOMMM’ daily, audible or silently, your choice. The shower is an excellent place for audible toning.
Perform acts that nurture others often. Do something for someone else that helps them feel loved. The effect is the same as acts of self nurturing.
Meditate often. The method is not as important as the deed; what is important is to be in touch with your inner self. Once per day is the recommended minimum.
Meet often with others who are pursuing paths similar to your own. This strengthens the resolve and lessens the fear of insanity.
Pay attention to your recurring thoughts, they are the creators of your general environment.
Act as though Life is fun and games. It is.
Own your successes; they tend to increase with ownership.
Trust your intuition, generally it is correct.
Acknowledge the humanity in everyone. It affirms your own.
