Elvis was born on January 08, 1935. He died on August 16, 1977. He was a very popular American singer. He also became an icon which followed the years after his death. He is currently the King Of Rock n Roll.


He was born in Tupelo which is situated in Mississippi. When he was born he was moved to Memphis Tennessee. Elvis was thirteen at the time. He began his career in 1954 when a person named Sam Phillips opened a company named Sun Records. The music recording company was wanting to bring out the best of African-American music which was very popular at the time. When Presley came along he was notably no the favourite. He was pushed up as a wild-card, and he had to beat a lot of completion before he made it to the top.


The studio gave Elvis his own band. There was one guitar play, and a bass player. They played music that was very rockabilly, and it was very wild and grew in popularity. The band was given a promotion, and they appeared on television and radio. A manager named Tom Parker would manage the singer for over two decades helped Presley to grab a deal with RCA. The first single for RCA was Heartbreak Hotel, and this was released as a number one hit. Rock and roll was born.


In 1958 Elvis was conscripted into the army. He was pushed up for military service. He was to spend a great amount of his time at army bases until 1960. During this time he was allowed to keep music as an outside interest, however in the end Elvis was let go because he had been doing too many drugs and was unsuitable for military work.


Back at home Elvis found out that he had been sold while he was away. He returned to a very wealthy pay-check, which pushed him up for the higher circle in the community. He could afford more then he ever had before, and the work kept on coming. During the 1960's Elvis was hired for movie work. This pushed up his celebrity, and made him ever more popular. During the 1960's Elvis also completed a range of live concerts which were both met with praise and negativity, doping on the venue.
