Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.

Hans Christian Anderson

he youngest of six children, I was a carefree child who adored cavorting in the wooded countryside surrounding my Appalachian home. In the sunlight, I sought after birds, bees, butterflies and small creatures in the forest. It was fabulous fun to caw out to the crows and have them caw back. Climbing a tree to inspect a bird’s nest and find eggs or baby birds was thrilling. Considering myself to be fearless, I invited yellow-jacket bees to crawl all over me. When lovely butterflies landed on me, it was delightful to feel their delicate leg tickles. Sweet-scented flowers, strange-shaped trees and clear-chirping creeks always caught my attention. Under the moonlight, I cherished catching the flashing fireflies, listening to singing katydids, gazing at the sparkling stars and dancing beneath the shimmering moonbeams.

Our family was poor but we worked hard and played happily together to make the most of our humble life. We had to carry our water every day from a far-off spring to drink and wash clothes. There was no indoor plumbing and we cut firewood to keep warm in the cold of winter. Home-grown vegetables and fruits, plus wild game, helped to feed and nourish the eight of us. My gentle devoted father worked different jobs to support us while my assertive dedicated mother fulfilled the responsibility of raising six children who were but seven years apart.

One of my fondest childhood memories was the love of fairy tales. Naturally, fairy tales were a wonderful place of fantasy where one and all lived happily ever after. Conflict or clashes were never allowed in my ideal existence. Hence, I grew up believing the fairy tale illusion of a perfect world where everyone and everything was happy and peaceful.

Wearing my mask of fairy tale beliefs, I unconsciously shaped the secret archetype, or representation, of Little Miss Perfect. I created my perfect existence by disregarding my emotions and feelings, thereby making it difficult to express myself. If things were not rosy in my life, I hid the pain and anger in my heart while pretending to be cheerful as a clam. Embracing the feminine energy, it was important to me to have others believe that I was living in that happy peaceful world.

After graduating from a small town college, I stepped into a physical education teaching career that I loved. I married twice and had four wonderful children, two sons and two daughters, to share much laughter and love. Later in life, I was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter. For four decades, I lived fully in the Physical World carrying the energy of an innocent, but ignorant, little country girl. Why do I say ignorant? Ignorant is defined as lacking knowledge on a particular issue and unaware of something. I existed totally unaware of the unconscious fairy tale spell which I had cast upon myself. I had yet to discover the mysteries and marvels of the Spiritual World.

In my early forties, I began reading two and three books at a time on diverse spiritual subjects. Always an avid reader, I was fascinated with this fresh divine knowledge. I attended multicultural workshops and spiritual seminars every opportunity possible.

During my spiritual quest, I traveled the earth in the four cardinal directions. In the East, I enjoyed the breath-taking country of China to view magnificent gold and silver temples while studying with a Master of Qigong, or meditation in movement. I visited god and goddess temples on blistering hot days in Greece as well as the ancient site of Stonehenge on a blustery cold day in England. Wandering from England to Ireland, the cold damp weather did not keep me from kissing the Blarney Stone twice. I voyaged South to Peru on a Dream Journey to explore spectacular sun temples and study dreams. Several dream sessions were held inside the grounds of the illustrious Machu Picchu and it was there that I discovered the power of my dreams. In the West, I studied with a protégé of Sun Bear to learn of the honored Native American culture and also, experienced a miraculous Healing Workshop on top of the revered Mt. Shasta. Going North, I joined A Peace Gathering for several summers in Canada to celebrate diversity and unity while meeting lovely folks with interconnected views from around the world. On top of my extraordinary travels, I locally earned my Reiki Mastership of hands on healing and third degree Reflexology to fulfill my longing of this wondrous new world of spiritual energy.

Through bountiful years of pursuing ancient knowledge and spiritual truths, I came to believe that every culture and religion has something to exchange. In truth, there is more than one way to connect to the Creator. Through enchanting multicultural experiences, I perceived that different words from dissimilar cultures were all teaching similar sacred messages of love.

The two worthy words that sprang forth from all my references were energy and power. Like drifting out of a dream and awakening to perceive myself as a spiritual energy being, there was no doubt that I lived in both the mundane Physical World and the mystical Spiritual World. Facing my shadow side, or the darkness inside of me, was one of the greatest challenges of my life. Enlightening and frightening experiences compelled me to change my thoughts and ways and eventually connect with my true self….a divine shining spirit. My deepest magical experience called for self-love and self-forgiveness to physically feel the energy and power of divine love humming in my heart.

Why did I choose to weave some very powerful spiritual facts into a fanciful fairy tale? Having read hundreds of spiritual books that guided my life, the teacher inside me called forth creativity to present the divine knowledge and truths in a more entertaining approach to learning. Yet, as the tale unfolds, it is not all fun. For example, the issue of abuse is addressed. Abuse is characterized as wrong or unacceptable choices of action. Of course, there are various levels and perceptions of abuse. Only the victim, or wounded one, can determine if they have been abused and seek ways to change that energy.

To better comprehend the upcoming tale, I have to relay the characteristics of the major feminine or masculine spiritual energy that each individual reflects. Basically, the feminine energy embraces the traits of being soft, submissive, giving, dependent and indecisive. The masculine energy is personified as strong, dominant, receiving, independent and resolute. Physical gender does not necessarily match up to the predominant spiritual energy. In relationships, these energy dynamics will unconsciously draw the opposite energy to balance. Everyone should be aware of the spiritual energy that motivates her or him. Ideally, every individual should strive to balance both the feminine and masculine energy.

What is the timeline of this fairy’s spiritual adventures? It would be nothing more than a blend of past, present and future thoughts to create a better, more beautiful, life from the inside out influenced by many cultures. This book is the first of a trilogy that took me fifteen years to write as I went through deep levels of awareness and transformation. Regardless of age, the spiritual search is a journey of self-awareness to face our issues. Issues are ageless. Will you be able to see a part of yourself in the menagerie of characters in this tale? Are you willing to identify your inner turmoil and hidden secrets? It is not easy to look at ourselves and admit that our thoughts and actions may not have been the highest choices. Change is courageous and the first step is to see your fairy tale illusions. My fancy is for you, the reader, to fly with this fairy on her, sacred and scary, mystical journey of the heart. Perhaps, Moon Dancing will awaken you to create a wonderful fairy tale for your own life.

So I invite you, the reader, into my charming fairy’s tale. Fact or fantasy? Does it really matter? Life is merely a matter of perception. The majority of mortals view life through the outside perception of the Physical World. The marvelous mystery to uncover is the inside awareness of the Spiritual World which can be linked to mystical wakefulness. Yes, we do simultaneously exist in the two worlds. The secrets and the magic are inside of us. The beauty is that we can create magic in our life by living consciously with the knowledge gathered from both worlds.

On my spiritual search, I encountered an amazing number of shining spirits in both worlds who inspired the many models, or archetypal characters, in my story. I am grateful to all the seen and unseen ones who helped me to face my scary secrets and see my false self. It is worth mentioning that the embodiment of every character in my book was a part of me.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish to thank my loving family and friends in the Physical and Spiritual Worlds who supported me throughout my spiritual seeking. They were witness to my chaos and confusion as I frantically searched to find my true self. With their love and support in extraordinary ways, I courageously danced through the darkness and fears of my shadowland.

In September, 1996, I awoke from a dream hearing myself say, “I am going to write a book to help others.” At last, beloved readers, it is my privilege and pleasure to present that dream book to you.

Glori Wolfe, 11/11/11

Prologue

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched-they must be felt with the heart.

Helen Keller

lying through the forest alone, the budding fairy giggled with glee. She loved playing with all the woodland creatures on land and air. The first receptive playmate she came upon was a soft furry rabbit with a wiggly nose. She landed beside him and tried to imitate his happy hop. They played a game of hide and seek until she got curious to find another frolicking creature.

Taking to the air, the little one spied an elegant blue butterfly sipping nectar on a lovely blossom. She flew to the sweet-smelling flower to greet the winged-one and share the fragrance of the bloom. When the butterfly flew upward, the fairy joined her graceful flight to engage in a round of follow the leader. Other multicolored butterflies joined the merry pair to flutter out of the forest into an open meadow.

“Moon Dancing, where are you?” yelled a far-off voice.

“Oh, no,” groaned the sensitive fairy. “I have to get back to the Queen.”

Making haste to the earthly palace, Moon Dancing did not want to face the ordeal ahead. She knew the Queen Fairy would be greatly upset with her for going deep into the forest unaccompanied.

“Why does the Queen hate me? Does she always have to order me around? No matter what I do, I cannot please her. Besides, that female fairy who always calls me ugly will be at the palace, all the while snickering, when our monarch has words with me.”

When the fairy arrived at the royal grounds, the kind King Fairy was in the garden tending to the remarkable variety of magnificent flowers. He was known as Keeper of the Green and lovingly planted flora all over the kingdom. Seeing her anxiety, he smiled at the little one and told her that everything would be okay.

Scores of moons passed as the fairy bloomed into a beautiful young female. Frequently partaking in the beauty of Mother Earth and all her creatures, Moon Dancing had no idea of her own loveliness. She just knew that being by herself in the forest touched her heart.

Dancing under the moonlight was another one of her most adored activities. She recalled that the fairy folk on Willow Mist Isle gave her the name of Moon Dancing because they watched her dance under the moonbeams as a wee babe. She enjoyed the attention from her kin and kith when they used to clap for her hilarious performances.

Crystal Falls was her favorite place to fantasize. It was a musical falls with many levels as it flowed over the large rocks to sing out a lullaby. The fairy would sit in one of the comfortable coves and dream of her true love to come. She had no doubt that it would be a perfect love. They would laugh and dance together under the light of the moon. By no means would they raise their voices or bicker with each other. He would treat her like a princess.

“It will be a happy everlasting love,” she sighed.

Although Moon Dancing had lots of fairy fellows who took a shine to her, she had fun with them without any attachments. All that changed one fateful night at a lively bonfire celebration. Energetically dancing with everyone, she stepped away to take a breather. She noticed a male in the shadows who could not take his eyes off her.

“Who are you?” asked the unfamiliar face, as he boldly approached her.

“Who wants to know?” she smiled, feeling wild and free.

“My name is Caden. Would you like to dance?”

“I would love to dance,” Moon Dancing glowed while looking into his bright blue eyes.

After that momentous night, the magnetized couple could not stay away from one another. Their energy connection was so powerful that they often heard each other’s thoughts. They did everything together, filled with happiness and harmony. Moon Dancing did not mind that Caden was a little jealous of the attention she drew from other males. In fact, it gave her a sense of security.

For many full moons, life was perfect as they shared exciting days and passionate nights together. Dancing was their delight as they swayed harmoniously together under the shimmering stars. They never fought or had harsh words until one dark night descended upon them.

While at a rowdy dance festival, a stranger grabbed Moon Dancing’s arm to introduce himself. Always full of life and laughter, she chattered with him unaware that Caden was fuming on the other side of the bonfire. When she rejoined the love of her life, he was enraged. Before she knew it, he slapped her face and yanked her away from the celebrating companions.

“You belong to me!” shouted Caden, with his eyes radiating red. “Do not ever embarrass me like that again.”

“It was my fault,” she cried out. “I should not have paid him any attention.”

On the way back to their shelter, Moon Dancing was sobbing and could not believe that her true love had smacked her.

Thereafter, life took a dramatic turn for the once-perfect pair. They still continued to have some good times together but deep inside Moon Dancing, the seed of fear was festering. In order to keep peace in the relationship, she stuffed her thoughts and feelings and pretended that everything was wonderful. She avoided confrontations with Caden, who could get rather ugly and demanding when he was upset.

“The King and Queen Fairy had told me long ago that when I make my bed in a garden of roses, there would be some thorns. Caden can be sweet most of the time, but he makes me shiver inside when he is in a rage with his red eyes. If I continue to be loving and kindhearted, maybe he will change.”

Time marched on and Moon Dancing felt a hidden restlessness that she could not comprehend. Her dreams of true love had been shattered with Caden’s choices. Their fire of physical passion began to burn out. Due to her discontentment, the fairy was stirred to seek other ways to light up her life.

“I have done nothing wrong in this partnership, but Caden can be burdensome. How can the same lips that kiss me, curse me? There has to be something more beautiful out there. I need to find out who I truly am to fulfill this longing inside of my heart. I wonder who will be able to assist me.”

Spiritual

Search

Chapter 1

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

n a faraway kingdom named Willow Mist Isle, there lived a mesmerizing green fairy with iridescent wings of light. She wore a rich brown bouquet of ringlets around her face that cascaded down her back. The fairy folk dwelling on the emerald enchanted Isle called her Moon Dancing from the moment she was a wee babe and danced wildly under the moonbeams.

This fairy flew with her butterfly friends smelling the sweet nectar in the fabulous floral blossoms. She played tag games with her dragonfly pals over the shimmering surface of streams while squealing with delight. There were treasured times when she howled with Gray Wolf and soared with Red Hawk, her two closest creature companions.

The King and Queen Fairy in her kingdom had a personal and profound effect on her choices in life. She loved them so much that she did everything possible to please them. Moon Dancing was devastated when the King Fairy suffered through a terminal illness and made his transition to the Supreme Isle in the Sky. Based on her spiritual studies, she knew in her heart she had to let him go.

Under the full moon after his cross-over, the King started to visit Moon Dancing in dreamland. In the first several dreams, she saw him through a doorway to the other world in a weakened energy state and the little one quickly realized that her beloved King was reaching out to be her teacher from the Spiritual World.

Two full moons after his death, Moon Dancing dreamed that the King had walked through a passageway. She saw herself run to him and throw her arms around him for a hearty hug. He looked healthy again and she could feel the strength in his spiritual energy body.

“I love you,” called out Moon Dancing to the King Fairy in her dream.

Upon awakening, she understood the King’s first message to her was that there is rebirth and healing after physical death.

Moon Dancing’s philosophy in the Physical World was to live life fully. One of her favorite places in fairyland to have fun was at Crystal Falls. The musical multi-leveled waterfalls were surrounded by tall aromatic pines and moss covered coves. Beside the misty falls, the fairy enjoyed dancing under the moonlight. The silvery stream of moonbeams and the flashing of fireflies often illuminated the night sky.

On the moonrise, Moon Dancing called for Gray Wolf and Red Hawk to join her at Crystal Falls. The sounds of the tiny tree frogs and the katydids set the rhythm for her to dance the night away. The fairy appeared to change colors as she whirled and twirled in the shadows of the night.

The wolf led them in joyful howls while the hawk flapped his wings to the beckoning beat. Their harmonizing sound and energy echoed in the nightly ceremony.

After the shining stars danced across the sky above the celebrating friends, Moon Dancing finally collapsed from exhaustion. She had released her tangled emotions through her energetic body movement to the melodies in the night.

The fairy and her companions curled up in one of the welcoming coves. She snuggled close to Gray Wolf's fur and Red Hawk's feathers as she felt their warmth and security.

The wild-spirited wolf and regal red-tailed hawk were her two loyal confidants. Both were always there to support her. They admired her kind and gentle nature. Due to her sensitive spirit, they were aware that the fairy had often been wounded by others in the kingdom. Those that wielded their personal power found her easy prey.

The heaviest heartache Moon Dancing ever experienced had come from the one called Caden. The budding season of their romance brought endless laughter and happiness to the both of them. He vowed his love for her to the ends of the earth for many many moons. They frequently finished each others sentences with their intimate energy connection. Life was pure pleasure at the onset of their passionate love affair.

Gradually, the enthusiastic love was endangered by an abuse of power. Caden embodied a strong character that demanded he be heard. He had no concept of accountability when expressing himself. She, on the other hand, had not developed the skill to say no to deplorable deeds. The more she ignored their conflicts, the greater they grew. As the relationship regressed, he instilled a deep fright in Moon Dancing during their dysfunctional attempts to communicate.

In the name of love, the starry-eyed fairy unknowingly relinquished her power to Caden over and over by accepting his critical choices. It was the incessant name calling that numbed her. In those moments, the feminine fairy was not aware that her passive choices were more damaging to her than his aggressive performances. Sadly, she stored the pain in her heart to hide the anger and helplessness.

Moon Dancing thought her feminine choices of compassion and love would change him but regrettably, Caden was unaware that his ruthless words had broken her heart. The little one was no longer able to express herself effectively. The harsh reality was that she had allowed others to hurt her and by not making conscious choices, the fairy was unconsciously making choices. For scores of moons, she did not comprehend that she had practiced self-betrayal for most of her existence.

After the dance festivity, another dream message came from the King Fairy. He was standing beside the fairy in the dreamscape as she heard herself say, “I cannot do it. I am powerless.”

Under a slight glow of light, Moon Dancing flew down to the pool beneath the falls to freshen her face. When she leaned over the darkened water, her reflection shocked her. Although the rest of her body was visible, she did not see her face reflect from the pool. She had truly lost her own identity.

Pondering the King’s dream and her faceless reflection, Moon Dancing began to question her life and sense of fulfillment.

“There must be more to this gift of life! Just being lovable little me is not working.”

Even though the fairy radiated a sunny nature, she had failed to recognize her own pain. A well of confused feelings were embedded deep with-in her fragile fragmented heart.

Moon Dancing’s thoughts turned to other dreams that often showed both beautiful and beastly masks. Those dreams revealed the smiles which she masqueraded for the survival of her perfect self-image.

“Do others put on the happy face to play their secret guessing games?”

The fairy mentally flashed back on her gnome friend, Pig. He had previously proven to be a fun- loving friend that supported her spiritual seeking. Together, they had set out on a path within their kingdom for higher learning and healing. They had so much fun as they hunted for ways to live a healthier life. It was their hope to heal from their personal histories of painful experiences.

Moon Dancing confided to Pig about her fear of expressing herself as the two learned countless spiritual concepts together. During an intense study period, the two friends found themselves in a precarious situation.

The growing fairy was faced with a decision to move farther away from Pig’s residence but closer to Caden’s dwelling. Knowing Moon Dancing and Caden had some long-lasting love issues, Pig jumped up and down when he was told about the anticipated move. He got downright rude when the fairy made her choice to move without his approval and immediately severed the ties of their friendship.

“Why,” questioned Moon Dancing, “is communication so difficult for me?”

The communication breakdown turned into another agonizing heartache. Moon Dancing's perception had been changing. She was going through serious personal conflict as she attempted to integrate her new insights. In the end, her once-friend was not able to support her and he expertly used the knowledge of her communication weakness against her.

“I do not dig Pig’s view! He should see that I am going through trials and tribulations,” screeched Moon Dancing as she stomped around the sands under the falls.

The fairy was attempting to release past patterns that no longer supported her. It was not an effortless process to let go of the early encoding that still held power over her. Divine trust became her new ally.

Moon Dancing mourned the loss of Pig's relationship, but was firm about making a fresh path of her own. Even though the sorrowful fairy made several efforts to mend the broken bond, the gnome failed to respond. The fairy decided to set her old friend free. Unfortunately, that meant she would not get upcoming support from the one who she thought would best understand her changing perspective.

Shifting her sleepy brown eyes over to the singing falls, Moon Dancing was taken aback. She counted three...six...no...nine golden balls of light in vertical sets of three as they manifested before her eyes. They appeared right to left in the air with each set gradually increasing in size.

Amazed at the supernatural sight, the fairy cried aloud.

“What is happening here? I am an earthly being having a spiritual experience. How can these nine golden balls of lights be explained?”

Moon Dancing realized it was time to unveil this mystery of life. In order to expand her awareness, she must make her first journey outside the kingdom of Willow Mist Isle.

“I have to get beyond my need for approval to achieve a sense of well-being. It is my divine calling to discover my own happiness and true identity.”

While staring into the waters of the reflection pool, Moon Dancing resolved that she would travel three sunrises and three moonsets in each of the four cardinal directions. She would seek a unique experience at each destination in order to get answers that she so desperately sought. The excited fairy felt an explanation of the nine golden balls and the meaning of her life would emerge. Her eagerness grew as she felt the morning mist kiss her face. She decided to tell her comrades of the plan upon their awakening.

As sunup crept closer, Moon Dancing grew impatient to share her vision. She flew up to the cove to awaken Gray Wolf and Red Hawk.

“The time is now. I must seek knowledge outside of our kingdom to better understand me and my spirituality. I will leave on my spiritual search with the dawning of the sun.”

The comrades understood the reason for her quick departure. She had been restless for eons and answers could not wait any longer. The fairy hugged the wolf and the hawk and bid them a fond farewell. She assured them that she would return after her anticipated adventures.

While flying over the Isle, her thoughts drifted once again. She gazed lovingly at the lush green Isle that had always been her home. The memories were both sweet and sad. Nevertheless, Moon Dancing thanked the Sun God everyday as she celebrated her joy for life.

Undeniably, she would miss her kingdom of origin. Many good ethics had been engrained by her sovereign, but the dominant instruction had disheartened Moon Dancing. Additional early experiences had made it fruitless for the fractured fairy to express her true feelings.

She was overdue to find and fulfill her sense of worth. Dreams from the King Fairy floated in her head. In that moment, the fairy promised her King that she would seek changes to become a more complete and whole being.

Moon Dancing pulled herself away from the reminiscing to notice the rosy pink dawn. She watched the spectacular sunrise and thought of her own new beginnings. In her quest for truth and knowledge, the fairy would bring to light the reasons as to why she had made past choices. She sensed adventures to come as she flew into the sparkling sun rays, East of Willow Mist Isle.

Chapter 2

No man can reveal to you aught but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your knowledge.

Kahlil Gibran

fter the third moonset on her easterly flight, Moon Dancing searched for a safe haven so she could rest and restore her energy. She spied a winding stream in the distance and imagined the cool water on her face and body. Flying closer, she saw a splendid black stallion drinking from the water’s edge with white markings on his feet.

Sitting on the bank near the horse was a handsome white-haired knight. He wore a suit of gray mail and appeared to be deep in thought. Moon Dancing gasped at the sight of the White Knight. She remembered that his appearance had been predicted through one of the dreams from her King.

Moon Dancing recalled the words from the King’s dream.

“Stand up to him and you will grow spiritually.”

She considered, “What is our connection?”

The curious fairy stayed concealed in a bushy shrub to observe the White Knight and detected an aura of unrest.

“With my discontentment, will we be able to befriend each other?” she wondered.

Feeling no peril, the fairy flickered closer to make her presence known. When the White Knight saw her, he seemed both startled and pleased. It was as if he had been expecting her.

Her brilliant brown eyes and his bold blue eyes made contact as they both felt an intimate sensation of familiarity. The surprised fairy stopped staring.

“Hello there,” greeted Moon Dancing. “Would you know of a protected place where I might be permitted to rest for a few days?”

The White Knight explained, “I have pledged to protect all the Lords, Ladies, lads and lasses within my castle. I am sure we could find a place there for you to stay.”

Apparently, the White Knight was held with the highest of admiration by those at the castle.

“Why, that would be wonderful,” replied Moon Dancing.

“I am looking for a specialist to enlighten my entourage,” stated the White Knight. “Surely, you have skills to entertain as well as educate others?”

“I certainly do,” the fairy bravely boasted.

“Before you consider your service, I would like to offer you two things.”

The White Knight reached behind his neck and untied a chord. Upon the chord dangled a little golden ring.

“First, I offer you this ring.”

Moon Dancing held still as he slipped the shiny ring onto her finger. She was flabbergasted to see that it fit her tiny finger.

“The ring represents your commitment to serve my castle.”

The fairy’s eyes glowed as she gazed from the golden ring to the good-looking face of the knight.

“For the second offer, I grant you a total of four wishes. The first three wishes you make must be for the benefit of others. The fourth wish will be for you.”

“Oh, thank you, sir knight. This sounds magical.”

“Indeed, it is magic. If you are interested in my offers, I will lift you up for an initiation to Archangel Camael.”

Moon Dancing was thrilled at the thought of being touched by an angel.

“You bet I am! Show me the way!”

The knight motioned for the fairy to stand on a gigantic rock. With a beam in his eyes, he raised his arms to the heavens. He commanded her to raise her arms as well, while he initiated her to the energy of an archangel.

As the induction proceeded, the knight’s spoken words seemed very sacred. Indeed, the air hummed with their release. The fairy herself began to shine from within and was suddenly filled with a sense of importance to serve the White Knight Castle.

When they finished, the White Knight congratulated Moon Dancing with a chivalrous kiss on her hand. Arrangements were made for her to meet him at sundown at the White Knight Castle. Before leaving, the knight walked over to a tree not far from the stream to pluck a snake skin from a lower branch. He walked back to Moon Dancing and handed her the prize.

“I promise you transformation and respect,” decreed the White Knight after he mounted his dark steed and galloped off into the sunrise.

Moon Dancing decided to hide the shivery snake skin under some rocks until she better understood the significance of the keepsake.

“That White Knight is strange to give me a snake skin but he must be noble in other ways,” thought the fairy. “There are things to learn from him, but first I want to know more about this Archangel Camael.”

After a delightful dip in the sparkling stream, the fairy found a sunny spot to dry and unwind. She decided to meditate and ask for information on this divine being. Meditation was a practice in which she had to quiet her mind to reach her stillness within. Seven energy centers that aligned with the spine in the body were invoked to open the mind to higher guidance. Having received messages from past meditations, Moon Dancing trusted the answers she wanted would be forthcoming.

To begin, she inhaled through her nose pulling the energy from the ground and up the spine. Next, she exhaled through her mouth while pushing the energy out the top of her head. The fairy slipped into a trance-like state and soon heard the soft-spoken words of a feminine energy.

“I am the Archangel of Divine Love. Those who carry the pink rose of divine love in their heart can create a life of beauty and mysticism. You have the power to bring heaven on earth.”

Opening her blissful eyes, Moon Dancing felt blessed to have received communication from Archangel Camael. Although the fairy did not fully comprehend the message, she was confident that clarification would eventually come from this amazing angel.

“From this moment onward, I will lead the life of beauty as a mystical fairy,” she shouted.

As the sun wandered west, the fairy explored the exotic kingdom where the White Knight lived. The land contained open fields and fragrant forests which were inhabited with four-legged animals. There were some short furry creatures who wore a dark mask around their eyes.

“Could those masked creatures be a sign of me or of those I am about to encounter?”

The flying four-legged ones which frightened her the most came from the distant mountains. They were huge-winged monsters that wore an armor of scales. With their long noses and lethal looking tails, they appeared to be treacherous indeed. She even saw some who spouted fire from their snouts and the fairy was not about to get too close for fear that she would be mistaken for a tasty morsel.

After her exploration of the foreign land, Moon Dancing flew in the direction of the White Knight Castle. With the lone song of a mockingbird floating in the air, she approached the majestic castle. A shrouding mist hovered overhead. The fairy had decided to accept the offers from the knight for shelter and her spiritual growth. She was convinced that she had things to learn from this adventure.

Inside the crowded castle courtyard, the sounds of a festival filled the air with fun and merriment. The Gatekeeper led the fairy toward the White Knight. Moon Dancing saw him standing near a puppet show he had just finished overseeing. Rows of lads and lasses sat near the stage clapping wildly. The knight glanced her way and greeted her warmly.

There was a circle of Lords and Ladies surrounding him. The White Knight introduced the lady fairy to all of them. Then he persuaded her to perform her talents to attract the attention of the little ones ambling by.

When her impending performance was announced, Moon Dancing felt a bit jittery inside. The spectators waited silently as she took several long breaths before starting. The silence soon turned to screams of delight as she performed an astonishing aerial show. The fairy’s color changed from green to iridescent blue and ended in opalescent white during her display.

When she finished, the White Knight loudly whistled while the crowd clapped with glee. The knight gestured for the fairy to ride atop his right shoulder and the dazzling duo joined the masses to share in the festivities until the last light of the sun disappeared.

Moon Dancing was oblivious to the scores of suspicious eyes watching her. Those eyes fixed on her were wondering about this intruding stranger's connectedness to their White Knight.

Directly ahead, the fairy noticed a commotion around a chained creature. Moon Dancing nearly fell off the knight’s shoulder when she saw a miniature version of the horny beasts she had seen in the mountains. Hoping that her fright was not too obvious, she promptly learned that Hagar was the White Knight’s personal dragonet.

The dark dragonet sent out a peculiar possessive energy around his master. The red embers burning within the dragonet's eyes sent a chill up Moon Dancing's spine. Hagar's flaming orbs screamed intimidation and jealousy at her mere presence. She did not understand why he felt so threatened.

Through it all, Moon Dancing decided that her arrangement at the White Knight Castle was going to be an exceptional experience. Despite Hagar's silent tantrum, the fairy mentally confirmed her commitment to service the castle.

The White Knight asked Moon Dancing, “Would you like to join a gathering to go through a labyrinth?”

“What is a labyrinth?”

“A labyrinth, or a maze, is a path which represents the twists and turns of life’s journey to arrive at the center. The center, or heart, of the maze is the magical mystery of the divine spirit. By losing yourself on the path, you can find the unknown parts of yourself. The lesson of the labyrinth is to trust the journey.”

“I am learning to trust my journey,” whispered Moon Dancing. “Show me the way.”

The knight called for his cluster of mortals to enter the labyrinth, with Moon Dancing flying along behind them. He led them through sweet-scented, star-gazer lilies that were scattered along the narrow pathway. Spectacular statues of beautiful angels, ugly gargoyles and mythical creatures stood guard over the grounds. Candles glowed at close intervals to brighten the way.

The fairy’s ears detected the cooing of doves. In the distance, she saw a large cage encircling the white doves. Immediately, she recalled that white doves symbolize peace and love.

“I wonder why the doves are caged?” thought the fairy.

The White Knight spoke powerfully throughout the tour.

“We must first truly love our self before we can love another. When self-love is present, a being achieves the inner peace necessary to make the highest choices.”

Moon Dancing's head started to spin.

“Love yourself? That sounds selfish. Hmmm, how do you love yourself?” she breathed. She would have to consider this concept later. Presently, she must pay attention.

A tower of natural stone stood in the middle of the maze. Moon Dancing followed the others between two opposing archways. Inside the tower was a silver wall likened to a shadowy mirror. Two shining swords were mounted across each other. The regal swords reflected an X-shape from the flickering candlelight.

Everyone was encouraged to look closely at the wall before circling back to the labyrinth path. After the others moved on, the fascinated fairy paused in mid air.

Moon Dancing stared between the shiny swords into the depths of her own dark eyes. Time stood still as she connected with her very own soul. She had to pull herself away from the hypnotizing effect from the mirrored wall to rejoin the others.

After completing the labyrinth, the assembly followed the knight to a small shrine at the top of a mount. A third stately sword had been placed in the ground beneath the shrine. Embedded on each side in the handle of the sword was a huge ruby heart. Another invitation was given to those who passed by the sword to touch it and think of a secret aspiration.

Moon Dancing had a forever-fascination with hearts. She reached out to tenderly touch one of the ruby hearts on the sword handle. In that mystical moment, a bolt of lightning flashed from the sky and struck the sword. The fairy felt a powerful pulse pass from the heart on the sword through her hand and upward to touch her pounding heartbeat. It was an extraordinary experience.

The White Knight was loudly declaring, “We must believe that the Divine is within us. Miracles will happen to all who believe.”

Swooning eyes settled on the knight as the fairy thought, “Wow! This White Knight is a special spiritually-gifted mortal.”

The infatuated fairy could not credit her self in this lightning-bolt, heart-beat experience. She was so captivated with the knight's illustrious essence that she failed to recognize the hidden promise of her own divine powers.

Moon Dancing did not remember much after that. After the others departed, the fairy sat down to catch her breath. Shocking herself, she let out a soft exhilarated wolf howl. Following her howl, she could have sworn she heard a cock crow in the distance.

“Nooo way!” she uttered. “This must be significant...but what could it mean?”

While in her bemused state, the White Knight returned. As he strutted toward her, he seemed to be somewhat full of himself.

“Come back in three nights on the full moon to confirm your allegiance at the castle.”

Then he gave her directions to a safe and secret pond in the forest.

Moon Dancing’s iridescent wings drooped, but she retained her dignity as expectation turned into disenchantment.

“He had promised me a place to stay at the castle,” she sulked.

In her emotional moment, trust intended for the knight was threatened!

Chapter 3

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.

Edgar Allen Poe

nder the moonlight, Moon Dancing flew between the shadows seeking the hideaway in the forest. Considering the evening’s experiences, the fairy had to decide if her choice to serve the White Knight Castle was best for her growth. In three nights, the full Mother Moon would make her appearance. Sound sleep was necessary to enter the land of dreams to see if she could get some answers to her lingering questions.

Dreamland allowed Moon Dancing to drift into her own private kingdom. She knew that there, in the land of spirit, she was betwixt the Physical and the Spiritual Worlds. Her King revealed that dreams are a sharing of energy without the physical body. She had learned through past experience that her dreams sent messages for self-discovery and guidance from the Spiritual World.

Dream interpretation was becoming an important part of her life. The fairy learned that the real supremacy of the dream language was the symbology. Admittedly, it was sometimes problematic attempting to translate the symbols but she always prevailed with persistence. In her early-on interpretations, she created a stir in her kingdom more than once because she had misinterpreted her dreams. Yet, breakdown and blunder was part of the learning.

Occasionally, Moon Dancing had prophetic dreams. There were nights that she saw forthcoming events with herself and others that were close to her. She was still learning to trust this sixth-sense of hers.

“It would be delightful if others realized the worth of their dreams,” she thought aloud.

In many of her dreams, the fairy noticed numbers or sets of objects. When she woke up, she always remembered the numbers and grouped objects. So she researched additional relevance of numbers to assist in the dream interpretation. She learned that numerology was simply the study of the significance of numbers. Each number had a meaningful message. The fairy combined her personal collective knowledge on symbology and numerology and applied the same system from her dreams to daily interactions. She called them sky signs.
