Remembering my love gone by,

While sitting by his favorite chair,

Silken strands of dulcet hair

Tickle my fingers as I sigh.

Recalling all the times gone by;

Running through the county fair

Laughing, riding in the air,

Resisting still his last goodbye.

Tears from my eyes are ripped,

Remembering sweet moments that stolen,

Were blessed nectar to be sipped,

Over years as that grew more golden.

Plans destroyed by a car that flipped

His too young body forever broken.

Deafened by the cacophany I think I hear You call to me.

Fulfilled within my busyness I cry about my emptiness.

Inundated by the blaring sound of life that surrounds me.

The frenetic rush and pace of life.

Torrential distractions; the endless connections;

Like, comment, tweet, all fill my heart like sugar coated treats.

The bitterest of gall, an unremarked status brings guilt and condemnation.

“If you don't like what I say, let me know so I can unfriend you promptly.”

How petty I've become, enslaved to the social media age.

Texting, stressing, faux publishing, just to stand upon my box and scream into the Cyberspaces.
