INTRODUCTION

An inflammation of the vagina is known as vaginitis. There are many forms of vaginitis and one of the main conditions is caused by bacteria known as candida albicans. These bacteria are the main cause of the common infection known as a yeast infection (or candidiasis).Research has shown that 75% of all women will experience yeast infection some time in their lives. Also, pregnant women are the most prone to having yeast infection.

The yeast is a fungus that lives in the vagina, but in very small quantities. The problem arises when these fungi multiply causing an imbalance in the vagina and the individual becomes uncomfortable, experiencing itching, burning, and other symptoms of discomfort. It should be noted, however, that yeast infections are quite common and are not usually very serious. With proper treatment and a few quick and easy practices, one can get rid of these annoying signs and symptoms in no time.
