Once, a long time ago there was a beautiful green valley full of noses---large noses, small noses…big noses, tall noses… many wore brown derby hats. Some even wore tennis shoes, (these were the running noses), and they all lived happily together in the valley---happily, except for one small problem.

Their Grand Queen was the problem. Her Majesty, Queen Kalabash, ruler of all the noses was terribly lonely. And this loneliness caused her to act snooty to her subjects.
Do this!” she would bellow. “Do that!” she would command.

It was on days like these that the smart noses stayed at home under their warm cotton hankies and out of her sight.
