Introduction: A Gateway to Madness
“The blizzard of the world has crossed the threshold
and it’s overturned the order of the Soul…” --Leonard Cohen
You are not a prisoner within your body; you are free. There is a universe inside of you; a cosmos of untold information that cannot grasp the tools necessary for physical enunciation. Humans are insatiable creatures by design and they corroborate their madness with others of their kind as each body perpetuates itself through the generations. We shouldn’t exist merely to support each other in pushing the darkness aside, but to realize the untold power of our symbiotic capabilities; a power most of us have forgotten. Man, in and of itself, is a feral and caustic machine that viciously fights for its entitlements. It has wallowed in unabashed folly, construing it as civility for centuries. After generations of social manipulation, man sings hymns in unison as it spits in the eye of that which brought it to life. It is only the action of one entity, the Soul, which will provide any hope for the future of our race.
After so many generations, the hypnotic creations of man have paid off significantly. In leaving what is now considered archaic, moving into an allegedly advanced state, man has used the world at its disposal to create a new tower of Babel. As we stand atop it with our goods, we shout to the heavens, demanding to each other that we recognize the value of what we are. This moment in history is rampant with devices that are a tribute to our own vanity and self-aggrandized proofs. We, by our own hands, have convinced ourselves that we are Gods. With the tools at our disposal we have gauged the world, measured the reaches of its limits, traced the origins of our history, and discovered the mysteries of most all terrestrial occurrences in our grasp. Our advancement and physical accoutrements have created a scab of self-righteousness that attempts to cover the gaping wound of our transgressions.
This one great flaw is a curse on the race of man and the cause for our spiritual and physical downfall. We have come to believe that in explaining away all of the prior mysteries of the world, we have also left little room for the existence of a higher power. Many have arrived at the conclusion that anything of spiritual content that cannot be gauged by the tools of our hands must not exist due to our inability to measure it. Those that still do believe don’t realize that the God of their religion is impotent, emasculated, and confined to the ideology professed by the follower. Each particular believer has stopped seeing a Creator that is beyond rituals and rites, confessions and structured gatherings, marketing and money, and confining laws that instill haughtiness and guilt. Man is his own Frankenstein: A self-created creature bent on total annihilation. We have overestimated our competence to such a degree that the bindings on our wrists have never been tighter and our eyes have never been more unable to penetrate the fog of ignorance.
“But I am a blasted tree; the bolt has entered my Soul;
and I felt then that I should survive to exhibit what I shall soon cease to be—
a miserable spectacle of wrecked humanity, pitiable to others and intolerable to myself.” --Mary Shelley
Man, by design, is a social creature whose brilliance is built on a very basic and subconscious blueprint. Each human is susceptible to the constructs of itself or others in the species and within the tribe. Most all actions are actually a drive for not only survival, but acceptance. Man created religion, and in turn, man follows it. A normal life as many would call it is a misconstrued and socially prescribed view of what is presently accepted in first world society. Most are incapable of sustainable farming, or building homes without running water, or dwelling in a manner that was considered normal just a few generations ago. Normal is now a constantly moving and chameleonic word that adorns itself with new delights as each decade passes. It is a magnetic title, a threadbare robe donned by the insecure masses, which has influenced the world to the point of exasperation. It is such a powerful, shape-shifting harlot that billions of people flock to its doors, pouring out their meager earnings in order to sleep with her.
Humans teach each other what normal is from birth. In regards to possessions and desires, the normal state of the species is of the utmost importance. It is the difference between envy and despotism, equality and abandonment. These creatures pursue normality because they venerate acceptance. They will, by design, attempt most anything in order to achieve a place of relevance. The pursuit of normality often comes at the expense of one’s freedom due to a person’s lustful desire to achieve it by a deviant means. Theft, murder, and deception are quite common. It’s always odd to see that humans will do abnormal things in order to achieve what they believe to be a state of normality in the world.
Rediscovery of what you are is the only means of tearing free from the dance. You have weapons at your disposal that slice away the idiocy of human thought like a chainsaw through Styrofoam. The Soul is the traveler, the master at the helm of your vessel, and the hope for mankind’s survival. As you reclaim control, the illusion becomes apparent and you step outside the lacquered veneer of tribal thought. Normal is a façade; it’s a tenuous creature that lacks any visible form. It starts to look like the trait of a species and not the actions of a Soul. As you further step away from the cycle of humanity, your realization of the species becomes more apparent. Also, your understanding of the depths at which these creatures have dug themselves in order to mimic real joy becomes more obvious. As you will find in future chapters, the humans have done these things in an attempt to find the following:
Satisfaction amidst insatiability
Joy
A reason for occupying
A means of tearing itself away from the Souls control
Relevance
Self-destruction
Profit
The first two will never be accomplished. This is because a human will always feel unfulfilled, and can never find the joy that is in the exclusive possession of the Soul. Therefore, the human seeks to destroy any Soulful thoughts to the best of its ability while filling itself with the innumerable desires that compel it. It fights rapaciously to eradicate any Soulful control because it wants to be free of its master, to act as it feels, to do just as the other earthly species are allowed. Unfortunately it cannot entirely; for it is the only creature that possesses the immortal and divine brilliance of a Soul. The human body is the only terrestrial being competent enough to house us. It is the only earthly creation whose organic computer was developed with the ability to reason. The human was built to serve the Soul, and it is your responsibility.
SoulKind don’t just play human. We don’t seek normality in the sense of what the world around us deems appropriate. SoulKind don’t follow sleepwalkers in order to achieve enlightenment because we know it’s not possible to do so. Once you are Awake, you cannot be duped by the masses any further; you can’t hold their hand and be led blindly into the void of hollow consumerism and endless searches for meaning. As SoulKind you see the world from an outside perspective and probe the recesses of your broken mind, repairing issues as you work toward controlling your machine. You think individually and can achieve the heights of success (a wholly arbitrary term) in a manner never to have been achieved while you were in a forced and debilitating slumber.
“All men’s Souls are immortal, but the Souls of the
righteous are immortal and divine.” --Socrates
As you Awaken you will see the human as a race of beings; as organic machines. You will see the species and notice its clan behavior. You will perceive your brain as a neutral central processing unit that receives and acts upon what it’s exposed to. Yes, you are inside one of these amazing creatures, but being one in the sleeping sense becomes more and more difficult. You will watch television and notice human behavior as if each episode is the Discovery Channel or National Geographic. You realize that drama and theatricality are strange traits common to the species. They fight horribly yet can enjoy each other moments later. They find love to be an emotional attachment and place a lot of demands on their version of it. Most don’t find love to be a state of giving and receiving in balance. A human mind cannot fully understand it without the Soul’s intervention. The human version of it is actually just a necessary part of the human animal trait. Human love is a means for creating a family and perpetuating the species while dwelling under the umbrella of the relational tribal madness that goes along with it.
Tribal madness was not always existent to the excoriating degree that it is at present. It was much more subdued and man lived in a sense of communion with the world created for him/her. Yet, the genius character of the flesh demanded relevance, power, and ownership. As each generation trespassed further, the following one would stand on the shoulders of their fathers and reach further into the void of self-succoring greed and control. The more man acted out of accord with his design the further he stumbled into the arms of insanity. The Soul became less capable as the light of the divine was smothered by rampant human desire. Each human knows, deep down, that the Soul is there, and it will do anything in its power to keep it shackled to the wall of obscurity or face the disruption of its insatiable appetite.
Due to the human’s vehemence, it wants to be free to act out and do anything in its power to mimic what it cannot have: Everlasting joy and a peace that is not of this world. It yearns for that peace and craves the thought of serenity, but it is only a fading vehicle used by the Soul to experience this world. The human hates its own mortality and knows that its time is limited. It bastardizes the truth and has overcome its master, creating false idols out of possessions and power in order to plug up a hole in a crumbling dam that it cannot ever reconstruct. The human is not a Soul, it is not immortal, and it cannot have the everlasting joy that we possess. It lusts for it and will seek it to the death if you allow. It will search until its time is finally spent; worn out and filled with regrets, envy, and the want of a life not led. In the end, many humans end up as a hollow, cynical, and withered consumer of anything it felt entitled to possess.
This book is about the discovery of what you are, fully realized. It lets you know that you are of divine origin and capable of very particular things within the design of the world. Many have forgotten this because their humans dwell in corrupt and depressed states, unaware of their capabilities. When you are back in control of your vessel, you will retake command of the ship and not allow it to convince you of anything that will hinder your progress. You will understand that the only thing that ever stopped your advancement was not others, nor incapability or insecurity. It isn’t an impoverished situation or “the man”, and it has nothing to do with your lack of creativity or disbelief in yourself. It is that your human is out of control, affected by its surroundings, and filled with flawed thought patterns that hinder your progress toward an amazing life.
“The only thing in the world, of value,
is the active Soul.” --Ralph Waldo Emerson
You are divine, free, and limitless. All you need to do is wake up and take back the reins. This book will assist you in learning how to do just that. In doing so, your life will be an adventure fraught with endless possibilities. You will Awaken from crisis, strip yourself of confusion, and shatter the despondency of your prior life. You will achieve your desires and goals while also being part of the next stage in the evolution of man. This is the power of a Soul in control; this is the right of SoulKind. In a world where the masses are blinded and burglarized by the selfish endeavors of the few, A SoulJourner is the voice that cries out from the wilderness and stakes its claim on self-governance and freedom from the fetters of conceit.
So gird your loins, prepare for the dismantling of your human bonds, and get ready to achieve heights that were prior thought unimaginable. Step into your future with joy and a newfound sense of accomplishment. Learn what it means to be a revolutionary; what it means to be…
…A SoulJourner.
“There are no foreign lands.
It is the traveler only who is foreign”
--Robert Louis Stevenson
When deliberating over what the ultimate truth may be, most of us oscillate between two opposing elements. On the one hand we ponder and adhere to the obscure and enigmatic quandaries of religion, God, and our divinity. Contesting that is the lack of evidence regarding those subjects and the consideration that there isn’t anything more than what is right here right now; or that there may be a god but we can’t know what it is.
Social conditioning/manipulation: Exploitation and molding of the individual by the demanding actions of the group.
Some find that religious ideologies and doctrine are relevant, so they follow the regimented pattern of laws and structure. They do this because they fear avoiding it due to social conditioning throughout their lives. Some become atheists because, being so overwhelmed with the lack of spiritual evidence in the sensory world, they have decided to pursue what they can prove to be real in this dimension. Others still yet adhere to random and sometimes self-constructed belief systems that give them a sense of spiritual contentedness. A few of us attempt to just live; avoiding discussions of God or the lack thereof altogether.
No matter where you fit in this equation, it is the duality of your existence in the world that is causing so much unnecessary variance. Such a conflict is pointless when you come to the truth as to what you are. This understanding can provide you a freedom that destroys the preconceived notions of what you’ve been conditioned to think.
At its core, the truth is a gorgeously simple, almost pedestrian understanding. This insight is the seed from which everything else will grow. It will become a tree that bears fruit for the rest of your temporary existence here. So, from the most basic establishment of truth, you will journey in pursuit of that which removes you from concerns, fears, insecurities, lack of success, and tarnished thoughts in relation to the ultimate question. To recognize the first truth is an induction into the complex and detailed world of self-deconstruction and reconstruction. This first step is small but of tremendous value. It is your initial walk away from tribal thinking and a statement that you won’t accept the status quo any longer. Your first step signifies ALL of the following statements:
I do not accept the problems in my current life any longer
I am walking away from the sleeping masses and Awakening to the truth
I will not succumb to social manipulation any further
I choose to a constant state of mental control, superiority, and joy
I will make a difference in the world by doing what only I am able to do
I demand a life of liberty, adventure, and passion
I am not normal, nor do I want to be
If you agree with all of the statements above, then the first point of recognition should be terribly simple. All profound things will be built from this tiny thing. The point stands alone, is not an extension of any arbitrary belief system, and is a pure and simple truth. It is this:
You are a Soul dwelling inside of a human body.
It seems like a simple enough statement does it not? At first you may presume so, but as you will see, it’s the core of all that you are endeavoring to learn from this moment forward. The term Soul is language equipped; therefore it provides a verbal manifestation of what cannot be described. The Soul also exists in a manner that isn’t physical. Since you, as a Soul, cannot experience yourself with sensory capabilities or through the use of diagnostic tools, then what you are exists in a different form. This form exists in parallel with the varieties that we can experience with our human body directly.
A valid question put forth is this: If the Soul cannot be experienced through human perception then how do we know that it exists? In order to discern that we are a separate yet parallel entity that dwells within our human (which is still yet a flawed interpretation) we have to experience moments of separation. Once you are Awake to the possibly that you are a dual entity, Soul and flesh, then it becomes quite easy to be in recognition of what you really are; what you immortally are. Many of you that are reading this already believe that you are a Soul and have no trouble accepting this central point. You accept it because you are seeking the truth…because you know that there is more to this world than remaining an organic being that exists momentarily and dies without any part of you transcending the death of your flesh. You know because your Soul cries out from within you for freedom. Yet, even those that are Aware of this truth often have not given birth to the experience of separation. This lack of experience can still yet leave you almost completely asleep.
From this point, every time you recall that you are a Soul dwelling in a human body, you should be Aware of the separation of the two. Given that you and the human are integrated, it can be difficult to retain the ability to distinguish this throughout the day as you go through your routine. The reason for maintaining Awareness is because you are now going to begin separating your knowledge of who you are from the covetous human who wants to keep you asleep and prey to its devices. You will discover that your reason for contending with the flesh is because it is NOT YOU. It is the human attempting to keep itself liberated of control so that it may still live the way it desires. This knowledge is a major step toward the experience of separation.
Awareness: Being observant of the life around you and the separation between Soul and body.
The human is remarkably prone to habits and if you as a Soul stay in command, over time you become quite adept at retaining Awareness. This Awareness is not a discipline once you grasp the concept of separation; it is a state of being. Once you grow familiar with it, you won’t attempt to discipline yourself to know the truth any more than you would convince yourself to breathe.
It can be incredibly difficult to understand the separation at first. This is due to a lack of revelation. Knowledge of an idea and a revelation in regards to it are frequently far from each other’s reach. An example of this would be an individual’s inability to wholly sympathize with someone else’s loss because they have yet to experience it for themselves. They understand that the loss happened and that it occurs throughout life, yet their sympathy is only an action without a true understanding attached to it. This is because they haven’t experienced true loss in their own personal life. So the primary difference between knowing what you are and living what you are is that you have to experience it for yourself. The first moment of Soul realization, further discussed below, is the greatest and most positive life-changing event you may ever experience.
A few years back a movie was released in theaters called Men in Black. It was a very popular summer blockbuster. In that movie there was a man with a cat that carried Orion’s belt on its collar. The man was killed. Later in the movie we see him on a slab in the morgue as the lead characters observe him. Suddenly the face of the man slides to the side, revealing a tiny alien creature surrounded by control units. We discover the man was a machine ran exclusively by the little alien sitting inside the vehicles head. As fantastical as that moment was, it is a great visual representation of the actual truth. Here, on planet earth, was an alien being dwelling inside of a human as it navigated and controlled its way through the unassuming populace. The alien obviously knew that it wasn’t human, yet from outside appearances it seemed as if the vehicle it lived in was just another one of us.
Just like the creature in the Men in Black movie, you are a separate entity at the helm of a sensory proficient vessel on planet earth. Yet unlike the scene above, you are hardwired into a flawed human vehicle. In turn you obviously find it much more difficult to control the machine you’ve been placed in. A better description is that the Soul/human are two separate entities comprised of different material, dwelling in tandem with each other as each vie for control while on this plane of existence. Focusing on the separation and observing the two entities separately is, as prior stated, Awareness. Once acclimated to Awareness, there is a blindingly bright moment where you transcend it. You instantly realize, without doubt, that you are a traveler inside an organic vessel…a temporary vehicle that is your responsibility and used for experiencing this world in a very particular and joyful manner.
Illumination: The liberating experience of separation between Soul and flesh/Operator and machine. This experience ushers in the birth of an Awakened Soul.
Once you are Illuminated, life begins anew and endless possibilities are again in your grasp. As a Soul you realize the errors and transgressions that have occurred in your life thus far. You begin to repair all of the issues that have arisen from the prior confusion as wisdom envelops you like a flash flood crashing into a paper fortress.
Awakening is a spectacular occurrence. You retain your Awareness without disciplining yourself to be Aware. You develop an amazing perspective of yourself, your tics, fallacies, inflections, motor skills, and behaviors. You step back and watch what you do and separate from it. In whatever shape your pursuit occurs, it all leads to the same conclusion: The achievement of Illumination, spiritual Awareness and the recognition of the Soul. Illumination is not the product of compartmentalization or manipulation; it is actually the opposite. Also, being Awake to the truth is indescribable…it simply “IS”.
Alien: A non-terrestrial being originating from outside the limits of the earth.
Describing you, a Soul, as being alien is not meant to convey images of bulbous eyed creatures with spaceships or an interplanetary species. We are aliens only in the sense that we are non-organic extensions of our Creator, placed in a physical plane that was built for us to experience this world temporarily through our personal vessels. The term describes us well.
As an alien dwelling in your own human body, you will realize that the things we go through are not only difficult, but wanted. These adversities are welcome because they become tools that will affect your human in a manner that is beneficial to its growth. Once you are the separation of Soul/flesh, you know this remark is not an extreme religious tenet, but a statement in fact. Yes you will hurt, yes you will experience adversity, and yes you will go through the gamut of life’s offerings, but you will know that all things are transitory and of this world.
A final movie plot worth discussing is the fictional account of The Terminator. In this series man is being taken over by machines. It’s humorous because many of us are controlled by our human machine and now we have a visual reference of the possibility that other machines can control these ones. That is a witness to the self-centered and histrionic nature of humanity: A controlling machine that is afraid that another machine, of its own design, will rise up and usurp its power; machines that control controlling machines.
In summation, metaphors are a fun means of describing the truth. All the allusions herein, though, convey an image of what is real amidst the fantasy. The reality is that we are of divine origin. We were created so that we can occupy this world as emissaries of love, experience what was made for our delight, and live in a manner that coincides with the purity of universal ethics. We are capable of controlling our vessels and living a fully enriched life according to our own unique design.
The world is our playground and our Soulful morals are free of the law of discipline because they are where the human descriptions of discipline came from. The core ethics that we possess transcend the existing social trends. As time changes, the political landscape adjusts to what is considered by the human to be currently appropriate. Such trends are another brain inspired fraction of the core truth, and the Soul knows it. Outside of this tribal action, on the edge of a dying world, stands the SoulJourner. Our morals are part of us as Souls, not the current trend of social manipulation. Our Morals ARE us.
We are alien in this world; temporary residents enjoying that which was created for us. Each of our machines will soon expire but we are immortal. No machine in the terrestrial world is beyond the effects of age and death, yet the Soul goes on. The human is your means of experiencing the wonders around you, and it has every tool necessary built right into its compact and complex self; the most amazing machine ever built for experiencing this vast world.
Once you begin your journey anew, as a Soul, you have the joy of not fearing the death of your vessel because you know that you go on. A Soul knows this, and is unafraid.
“The body too has its rights; and it will have them: They cannot be trampled on without peril. The body ought to be the Soul’s best friend.
Many good men however have neglected to make it such: So it has become a fiend and has plagued them.”
--Augustus William hare and Julius Charles Hare, Guesses at Truth, by Two Brothers, 1827
