The day had certainly turned out differently than Brynn imagined. She thought that a vacation would be a nice break from her crazy life in Ohio; but as always craziness followed her. But let’s go back to the beginning of Brynn’s seemingly perfect day….

“Are you done getting ready?” Brynn’s father yelled from outside the bathroom door.

Brynn rolled her eyes and finished applying her mascara. “Yes, just about,” Brynn mumbled.

“What?” her father practically yelled.

“Nothing!” Brynn shouted. Her father always got mad when he couldn’t hear what someone said; even if they weren’t talking to him.

Brynn walked outside and was greeted by a beautiful sun. She smiled; this was always how she imagined a vacation with her family. Finally her parents were both off of work at the same time and they could enjoy each other. Just Brynn, her mother and father, and unfortunately her older brother, Steve.

Steve was probably the dirtiest person in the world. He rarely showered, close to never cleaned his room, and was trying to break the record of how long he could wear one pair of underwear…. This is going to be a long ride, Brynn thought.

Brynn and her family were vacationing in North Carolina; she lived in Ohio, so the idea of warm weather thrilled her. The drive wasn’t too bad; just about twelve straight hours in the car with Steve and his fumes…. Brynn had been through worse; and she knew North Carolina would be worth it.

“Is everyone ready to go?” Brynn’s mother, Tara, asked.

Brynn smiled, “Yes, I’m ready.”

“Yeah, after about an hour of putting your face on,” Steve snorted.

“Steve, at least my face is worthy of looking at,” Brynn said with a smile.

Steve tightened his jaw. “Shut your face, Brynn.”
