"Mom, can I get the mail now. I've finished my homework?" Kathy shouted, as she tumbled across her bed and ran toward the front door.

"Yes, bring it in the kitchen. I'm expecting a letter from your Aunt Martha, and Kathy, try walking to the mailbox."

"Ok," Kathy called, slowing to a walk.

Out on the porch she pulled a chair over and climbed up on it. She peeked into the mailbox. All she could see were two letters and a magazine. She had hoped her new mystery book would be there.
