First Semester/Avalon Central University/Senior Year
Chapter One:
August 2010

I’m not the best when it comes to keeping diaries or even social networking things like Twitter and Facebook, but I was really bored over summer vacation and decided to give the written record thing a try. Mommy tells me (yes I still call her Mommy because it’s cute. She even says it’s cute and it’s better than calling her by her first name) that keeping a written record adds more value to my work in training for what I want to do once I graduate college: Become an author, and I want to attend graduate school to better my skills as writer. If the author thing doesn’t work out, I plan on having a back up Master’s Degree in Editorial Work.
Yes! It’s Sunday! And I’m back at school! Now you might be thinking, what the hell is wrong with this woman, it’s Sunday, so what? I’m at Aria Central University, ready to start my senior year off with a bang. Our school finally got Wi-Fi that works 200% better than last year, thank God.
ACU’s enrollment unexpectedly exploded last year, and that’s why I’m staying in Wellington Hills Hall. It was a nursing home, but ACU rented it out last year to accommodate the sudden overcrowding.
Right now, I’m watching “The Joy Luck Club,” movie on my laptop and pigging out on Doritos and Sprite. I know I look like a total pig, but I’m one of the happier ones. (Strange, considering that I’m actually skinny but I still have curves, so there.)
Love,
Reyna

10:30 a.m.
I’m sitting on the benches in the gym with other students in line to renew their I.D. cards and I’m still waiting for my name to be called. Honestly, the butterflies in my stomach haven’t gone away at all. School starts tomorrow, after all, and I don’t want to screw it up (I almost did last year.)
I went shopping with Teacher Suzuki yesterday and the cashier asked if she was my Mom…I was like, “Really?” We don’t look a thing a like—for one thing, she has bouncy Farrah Fawcett hair and mine is bone-straight and black—but we’re both skinny and our huge appetites impress people. Teacher Suzuki’s appetite is monstrous. After shopping, we ate at Ci-Ci’s Pizza and she really loves her spinach and mushroom--- she ate two entire boxes! (I’ll take the spinach pizza without the mushrooms, thanks). More later, there are 3 people ahead of me in line now.
4:00 p.m.
I’m so tired, but if I go to sleep now, I’ll miss dinner at the cafeteria in 30 minutes. Cafeteria food is only in excellent taste during the first two weeks of a brand new school year---after that, it goes downhill. (I wanna take a nap so badly!)
