How we saw the “surface”, the tranquility and calmness, the “perfectness”
of life, but what was lurking just under the surface and would come to
light in generations to come and in coming chapters.

How I tried to study and be the best astrologer ever,
it did not happen at this time and for certain reasons. I was not meant
to be the mundane astrologer that I would have been. In later chapters
it shows how my life experiences and personal growth effects how I do
what I do. Our experiences make us all the people we are today.

Introduction
My goal is not to convert or convince but to stir thought. I cover topics from history, the psychological view of what is happening, to the spiritual view. Some may be based on logic and some may be based on the mystical. We all learn and are motivated differently. This material comes from many different platforms.
There are so many wonderful books out now that focus on “parts” of what is going on. They go into much detail on that “part”. The law of attraction comes to mind. This is a very important part but it is just a part. Being a hypnotist and soul path astrologer I know that these are not all there is for growth and healing. For many we choose to focus on parts but for many who have not jumped into where we are and what is happening an overview is helpful. There have been so many that have just recently been “awakened” and want to jump up to speed on how this all came to be. Many are going thru the significant emotional events that bring them up to speed on where things are now in their lives and the world around them, but they need to have some details filled in, some pieces of this complex puzzle. Perhaps its just the words they need to label what they are going thru and feeling and seeing around them.
This book is a bit autobiographical in the sense it follows my journey of learning and growing and the people who have been influential on my path. I have been very fortunate to have leaders in their respective areas in my life. These people have been friends, speakers and trainers, and teachers. It is important to choose wisely who influences you.
There are several people I want to take the opportunity to thank for being in my life and contributing greatly to this book and my healing. Wally Naope who appeared in my life at a time when I felt my death was eminent and has remained my spiritual mentor. Dr. Bob Henry took off his friend hat and put on his professional hat to start me on the road to seeing my “life trauma/blocks”. Dave Barton, a fellow hypnotist who moved me along thru hypnosis and experiential actions to help me feel what my traumas are about and release the attached energies. Vicki Bates who allowed me to see some things in such a new light and with terminology to apply to situations. Wally Naope and Cindy Marie who helped me see the Bible in a new way. Recently and so importantly a gentleman that due to coming from my ego I almost walked away from. Bill Kennedy has been the editor put on my path for so many reasons. His writing skills so creative and his ability to pull from me more of what needs to be in this book. Also more of the lessons I have needed to learn.
This book is a coming together of many people and many ideas. This is not an autobiography but it does show how we are influenced and possibly healed by what we have around us. I am very grateful and even more grateful for anyone benefiting in any way from reading this book.

Have you ever wondered how we got to where we are,
individually and as a civilization,
and more importantly where we are going?
Have you noticed changes in your life? Perhaps what you have done in the past no longer brings the same desired results. Or life seems to be going better for you and you don’t understand why. Or you experience coincidences, like thinking of someone just before they call or knowing what someone is just about to say.
This book is a conversation. The language is simple, but the information may be new and foreign to you. I have put together some thoughts on the drastic changes that I and others have noticed in this age where change seems to be our only constant.
These changes are happening at different levels. Not only is there a kind of change that you have seen in your life, but also an evolutionary change, which some call the spiral upward. Many say this is about going into the “Age of Aquarius” starting back in the 1960’s. This book starts just a few years before that.
It’s like that famous puzzle that had scientists scratching their heads for decades: what is the missing link between ape and man? The changes in this book are so drastic, that those of the future will look back trying to find the missing link. We are that missing link and what we are going thru is moving us forward quickly. The change will be sudden and drastic. It will cause chaos and with extreme chaos comes extreme change. The human race will be transformed.
If your life has gone smoothly so far, and you have grown naturally in these times, then you are already on the right track. All you will feel is evolutionary growing: more insight into the nature of things, more confidence in who you are.
On the other hand, so many do not understand why their lives feel like a runaway ride on a raving roller coaster. They need to understand the changes, and what they can do to enhance their lives. Many will choose at some level not to continue in the here and now. The illiterate of these times will not be those who cannot read and write, but the ones who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn. It is about learning to reprogram ourselves, to raise our vibration.
A few years ago, a friend said to me, “Our systems are all broken. What are we doing to fix them?”
The “veil” of our conscious creation is falling. When we look at politics, what used to be hidden is now being brought to light. The secrets are out, literally, with situations like Wiki-leaks. We are in the age of communication, and with media as it is. Much is right before you if you know what to look for.
One of the early predictions in the past few years was that this is the time of “veils” that have hidden so much from us would be falling. Veils of secrecy regarding certain parts of our collective creation, our culture , and societal way of life are falling away. This is what the “shift” is partially about. Altho in recent news we see that the actual magnetic north pole is shown to be shifting about fourty miles a year towards Russia. This shift is affecting us on all levels from the physical earth plane to the psychological and spiritual levels.
There have been a number of occurrences during this past years that make us realize that things are very different now. Even as early as the beginning of this century, there have been many disasters gaining worldwide attention, all having to do with energy and the sources of energy that mankind has chosen to develop and over-use. Remember the coal mine collapse in Peru, the huge oil eruption and spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the natural gas leak explosion in a Northern California neighborhood, just to mention a few. There were many more, smaller, less noticeable ones.
Politics are as effected as everything else. People are demanding change. An entirely new political faction came into being, that of the “tea party”, taking its name from the historic Boston Tea Party. This movement can be said to be America's latest effort to get back to basics, so to speak. This group affected the outcome of the national mid term election, completely reversing the election held just two years earlier.
Religion did not escape exposure and scrutiny either, as the Catholic Church finally agreed to pay victims of abuse by priests over the years. The settlements came to millions of dollars. At the same time “Christians” all over the United States screamed foul when it was discovered that an Islamic Mosque would be built near “gound zero,” the site of the September 11th episode in NYC. Not religion's finest year, to say the least.
To sum it up, it's been a busy year, a busy decade, and promise of the future is more of the same. More discovery of how we have been creating our Universe over the past century or so, and re-thinking our “old” choices.
Have you felt the impact of what is happening in the world? Have you noticed how changes happening in one part of the world affect the whole globe? It is how you handle these pressures and the choices you make that will dictate your individual future.
My goal in this book is to explain how we got to where we are and where we are going. It will shed new light on some things in your life, giving you new options to think about when making choices. All will experience the future in their own unique way.

The Greatest Generation
Norman Rockwell was famous for his detailed, true to life pictures of American living. You can recognize yourself, your family and neighbors in a Norman Rockwell painting. Every detail is patiently recreated. Grandma carrying out the Christmas turkey for a proud grandpa to carve, surrounded by a loving, happy family. You see the smile on Miss Jones' face as she looks at her pupils and their “Surprise, Happy Birthday ” on the chalkboard, along with the apples on the desk and the way some impudent scamp added a “y” at the end of Jones. You see the grown serviceman, in the kitchen peeling potatoes with his mother, his feet tucked up like he used to when he was a child. You see the three boys caught swimming in the forbidden pond, running for their lives in various stages of undress. Yes, every detail is there, just like things were in the good old days.
The only problem with these pictures of American living is that they show only the surfaces, as though we were mugging for the camera. Life seems so perfect in a Norman Rockwell painting, even the one showing the married couple engrossed in a heated political argument. Even the hobo seems content with his two sausages. Was it really like that? Were the good old days really good? Were people really that content with their role in life?
This was our conscious reality. Any uncomfortable reality was conveniently swept under the rug, hoping it would go away. In post World War II America a lot of energy was spent on appearances. The world had just been turned upside down by war and people yearned for stability. Was there stuff going on beneath the surface that just couldn't be seen? It would take significant emotional events to bring forth that realization, a tough war overseas, the shooting of a dearly loved president. Only then, as the realization seeped in, would the societal consciousness start to grow.
In reality, are we struggling with the same addictive behaviors that plagued the previous generation? Are we looking for meaning and value in life and finding that the cupboard is bare? Is it time now to delve beneath the surface to find some answers about what we are truly made of and where we can go? A lot more is known now than in the days made famous by Norman Rockwell. There is a clearer vision of the road we are on. Your journey starts here..

Astrology: The Early Days
Sometimes, it’s not enough to know what you want to do with your life. You have to get the timing right as well. When I was in my twenties, I wanted to be an outstanding astrologer. I read as much as I could get my hands on. I learned to construct chartwheels the old fashioned way since computers and the programs to do chartwheels were not available. It seemed the harder I studied the less stuck with me. We are told that if we want something deeply enough and we work hard for it then we can achieve it. In all of my efforts, I was feeling like a failure in becoming that outstanding astrologer that I longed to be. My interest never waned but I put it on the “back burner” of life.
Later I realized that my work assisting people had given me the pieces that were missing earlier. I had learned so much about being “destined” and going with the flow of a bigger power. I learned that wo/men do not live by astrology alone. Life is so much more.
I always took opportunities to learn more about people. After thirteen years as an X-ray technician, I moved on to human resources and was responsible for a safety program for a large company. It was there that I had the opportunity to watch people at all levels in the company and especially watch behavioral patterns. I learned so much here.
Towards the end of this time, I was very active in an educational program for management where I had the opportunity to work with innovative speakers and trainers. I also had a position on the national board for this organization. My vision here was taken to another level. It was wonderful.
It was in the mid nineties that I started focusing on astrological charts again. So much had moved forward by then. There were computers and programs for doing chartwheels.
It was at this time I realized that the bigger power or as I call it “universal consciousness” wanted me to bring astrology to a wider audience. To use the terminology of the visionary leaders, speakers, and trainers that I had worked with so that more people would be open to what I was saying.
As times have changed, especially after 2000, and even more now I see how important it is to focus on our life lesson or weakest link. Also with the focus on abuse of energies in past lives that effect us in this life until we do the karmic payback.
It is now I see it so clearly. Another very big part of this transformation was my own healing from my life trauma that allows me to see other's trauma and life dynamics much more clearly.
