A man rolled his eyes before tossing a book back in the bargain bin. It seemed the secondhand store wasn't yielding any hidden treasures this go round.
A bell chimed softly in the background as a woman entered, her attention snagging on the basket of used novels. She loosened her scarf and unzipped her coat before reaching into a pocket to retrieve a pair of reading glasses. She dug through the wide variety of one-hit wonder stories but paused over a familiar title. Bram Stoker's Dracula was aimed right for her. As if mind-controlled, she snatched up the paperback before skimming over its inner cover.
"Excuse me. Are you interested in Stoker's work?"
She looked up, a touch startled, and nodded slightly in response. The man was still browsing at the other end of the book pile. "I've actually been hoping to read this one. I've only seen the movie. It was cheesy, so I can only hope the book is better."
