Welcome,

If you’re reading this book then you’ve decided that you’re ready to take control of your hair loss using a natural approach. You’ve probably gotten to the point I did when I began to research and develop my own natural solution for hair loss.

I had been told there was nothing that could be done for hair loss. My friends and family told me to shave my head (I know they meant well). Companies made empty promises that translated to a lifetime of expensive topical formulas, dangerous and expensive surgeries, or high priced side effect ridden drugs. I became more frustrated because all I wanted was my real hair back.

Unfortunately when it comes to hair loss there are a thousand salesmen looking to make a profit. They often employed techniques, which attacked my already low self-confidence, and they always tried to use a great sense of urgency in an attempt to part me from my money. I don’t

fault those who respond to these tactics.

This is a desperate situation. I can say that, I have been there. I started losing my hair at the age of nineteen and I spent the first ten years avoiding the issue by wearing hats, combing over, and eventually shaving my head. Then, one day I took a good look in the mirror and I did not like what I saw. I was staring male pattern baldness down and I knew in less than five years I would be completely bald.

My financial situation did not allow me to utilize hair transplants or even a monthly prescription to an FDA approved medicine. Now I can say I am thankful for that. My situation forced me to look for a very inexpensive solution. The solution I found and will share with you did not come to me overnight. In fact, I spent a year researching and trying many different methods before I came to the perfect combination of techniques that not only stop hair loss dead in its tracks, but also regrow lost hair.

This approach is not magic and is not full of old solutions (i.e. buy a wig). This program is for people who are serious about regrowing their own hair naturally. I will also share with you how to maintain the hair you’ve regrown.

This program will require you to have patience, perseverance, and consistence. Your hair did not fall out in one day so it would be unrealistic to expect it to come back that fast. Fortunately, I was able to come back from twelve years of hair loss in six months.

My situation was really very dire. I had full widow’s peaks, an inch of frontal recession, and a 2X2 inch slick spot in back. The hair that was there was very thin and diffuse. It was obvious to me that all of these bald spots were converging to a point of complete classic male pattern baldness.

I felt there had to be alternative, natural methods to regrow hair without spending loads of cash. The result of my research and experimentation brought me hair regrowth in six months. I feel that if I can come back from baldness, anybody can.

Introduction

Why Hair Loss Is Deemed Incurable

The general consensus is that hair loss is incurable. If you act fast, you may be able to keep most of what you have with expensive medicine. If you’re too late, your options become far fewer. Here are the conventional solutions as I and many others see them.

Minoxidil

There seems to be a reason this one has managed to stick around. Minoxidil seems to work on some men, in some areas, some of the time. Not exactly reassuring for the high price tag. Lastly, any positive results are reversed if use is discontinued.

Hair Transplant

After spending over ten-thousand dollars, your scalp is cut up and sewn to other parts of your scalp in hopes that over a year later you will begin to regrow hair. Many patients require follow-up visits to correct mistakes from the initial surgery. In the worst cases, the surgery does not work and the scalp is grossly disfigured ruling out the possibility of shaving your head.

Toupee/Wig

Everyone can spot these a mile away. The reason is that even the best wigs cannot keep up with the constantly changing color and texture of most people’s hair.

Additionally, newer wigs require a daily gluing/affixing to one’s head in order to stay in place. Finally, most of these wigs require a maintenance visit once a month to have the wig inspected and/or modified.

Prescription Pills

These seem to have some effect after an extremely prolonged period of consumption. The problems lie in the serious sexual side effects experienced by users. Who would want their hair back at the expense of their sexual function? Once again, any positive results are reversed if use is discontinued.

Exotic Pills

There are many pills from countries in the Eastern Hemisphere promising incredible results, which are usually too good to be true. The worst part is there is really no way to know what is truly in any given miracle pill. This is not only a gamble with your money but your health.

These are the most popular conventional treatments. None of these treatments can guarantee success and if success is achieved it is conditional upon continued usage of the product. Hair loss cannot be cured as long as there is a successful market for ineffective treatments. A cure would put the hair loss industry out of business, so waiting for a scientific cure may not be the best plan of action. This is why I feel natural hair regrowth is the best choice to treat hair loss.

Theories On The Causes of Hair Loss

There are many types of hair loss, but the one this program focuses on is classic pattern baldness. This type of baldness has many theories. I present the two theories I agree with the most and that I feel have some merit.

DHT (Dihydrotestosterone)

The male hormone Androgen plays a role in both hair growth and hair loss. When the metabolism of this hormone combines with the enzyme 5 alpha reductase, which tends to combine with the male hormone testosterone, DHT is produced. DHT is thought to be the primary culprit in Male Pattern Baldness. I agree with this theory as it makes sense that a genetic predisposition could allow this reaction to happen to some people and not others.

Poor Blood Circulation

It’s not to say that there is an inadequate blood supply to your scalp, but that the blood is not replenished enough to provide hair follicles with the proteins and nutrients needed to grow normal healthy hair. I very much agree with this theory.

The Confusion of Causes

If you look for the absolute cause of hair loss on the web, you’ll probably want to pull out any remaining hair you have on your head. There are many answers. Clinical answers, weird answers and lots of I don’t know’s. The right solution is even more evasive. Common sense told me that:

a) If male pattern baldness only affects some men and not others, there is probably a genetic disposition that causes hair loss. If DHT is the active hormone that causes hair loss, then DHT must be controlled in order for the follicle to produce hair again.

b) After years of hair loss, controlling DHT alone cannot revive inactive hair follicles and a second action must be taken to correct this issue. If dormant hair follicles can be revived, hair can grow again, and will be retained through proper maintenance.

c) If hair is a resultant of the hair follicle which resides within the scalp, then hair loss is only a symptom, and the problem that causes baldness is rooted in the scalp. When DHT is controlled and the scalp and hair are kept in a healthy state, the conditions for hair growth become optimal.

Three Types Of Hair

The three types of hair grown on our scalp

Terminal, Lanugo, and Vellus hairs

Terminal: Thick, fully pigmented hair. This is the type of hair we want to cover our entire scalp.

Lanugo: Lanugo is the intermediate hair that grows between the Terminal and Vellus hair phases. Lanugo is pigmented and thicker than Vellus hair but not to the same degree as a thick Terminal hair.

Vellus: This is weak, fine, non-pigmented hair often described as wispy. Vellus hair can only be seen in certain angles of light and covers out entire body, most visibly, as we are infants. Vellus is not the final hair we are looking to grow but it is a great sign as it is a pre-cursor to terminal hair.

Miniaturization and Reverse Miniaturization

Miniaturization is the process of a hair becoming weaker and weaker and eventually disappearing. A terminal hair becomes lanugo, then vellus, then non-existent. This is how your hair fell out.

Reverse Miniaturization is the process of how your hair will come back using this program. You will see your hair essentially come back in the opposite order of events.

The only difference is the that your hair for the most part fell out fairly evenly, where as the process of Reverse Miniaturization will cause hair to grow back rather unevenly. I feel explaining this will help you understand why regrowth comes back in such an odd pattern.

When you’ve regrown most of your hair the pattern will even out nicely but again, this takes time. Look at uneven growth as a positive sign that your hair wants to come back. Remember that even if a follicle isn’t producing hair it still has the ability to do so, reactivating follicles takes time but can be done. The program illustrates how to reactivate dormant hair follicles.

Myths

Some of the absolute mistruths about hair loss

You inherited baldness from your mother’s side of the family

The Truth

The baldness gene can be picked up from either side or both sides of the family.

Wearing hats causes and exacerbates hair loss

The Truth

Proven to be untrue. While it’s good to let your scalp breathe as often as possible, don’t be afraid to wear a hat. Wearing a ponytail frequently can cause Traction Alopecia, a form of temporary baldness.

Shampooing, Combing, and Touching hair makes it fall out faster

The Truth

It’s actually quite the opposite, the less you manage your hair the less stimulated it becomes. Doing nothing makes things worse.

Once a hair follicle stops producing hair, it has died and can’t be revived

The Truth

Hair follicles do not die, When a follicle no longer produces hair, it enters a dormant phase and can produce a hair again if reactivated and treated properly.

Too much/too little sex causes hair loss

The Truth

Neither is true. Additionally, masturbation has nothing to do with hair loss. While studies have been carried out to link ejaculation to DHT production, none have been able to prove this link exists.

There is no cure for hair loss except minoxidil, pills, and transplants

The Truth

There is no cure, there are treatments including minoxidil, pills, transplants, and many more. In my opinion, cure implies a permanent solution that works fast and requires no maintenance. It is up to you the consumer to decide which solutions make sense to you. I feel the natural approach puts your treatment in your own hands and allows you to make far more choices in regrowing and maintaining your own hair.

Hair Facts

Important facts about hair and hair growth

On average, hair grows approximately 1/2 inch per month

You are born with a certain number of hair follicles that can’t be increased

Hair grows in three stages; Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen

The average non-balding person loses 50 to 100 hairs everyday

The average hair count on a full head of healthy hair is based on hair color

Blondes have about 140,000 hairs on their head

Brunettes have about 108,000 hairs on their head

Redheads have about 90,000 hairs on their head

How Hair Is Produced In Lamens Terms

Hair grows by pushing up through hair follicles and penetrating the surface of the scalp.

Papilla

The papilla is the organ that produces hair. The papilla contains capillary blood vessels from which hair derives its nourishment.

Root

The portion of the hair between the bulb and the skin. After the hair penetrates through the skin, it is referred to as the hair shaft.

Follicle

Follicles are the external point of the hair shaft from which hair grows outward. The follicle serves as a hole for hair to grow through. Follicles are permanently embedded in the scalp and cannot be removed.

You’re Situation and This Program

This approach is holistic in nature. It works for everyone; however, patience is required in order to achieve the desired result. If you’ve lost almost all of your hair, you have a long road ahead of you. If you started losing your hair less than a year ago, you will have a much shorter road and probably experience regrowth in less than six months. Below explains what happened during each month in my situation:

Month 1

The beginning of this program induces a lot of initial hair shed but by the end of the month, hair loss is completely stopped. The amount of hair shed goes from excessive to normal. The scalp feels more alive.

Month 2

The first vellus hairs appear in thinning areas, spots that used to appear shiny begin to lose shine as follicles are beginning to open up. By the end of the month, a few terminal hairs come back. These were the most recently lost terminal hairs before the program was initiated.

Month 3

More Vellus hairs appear; Vellus hairs are longer and more visible requiring less light than before to be noticed. A few more terminal hairs appear in thinning areas accompanied by a few Lanugo hairs.
