Dedication
This book is dedicated to the child inside everyone, young and not so young. To the smile that still touches a child’s lips today the first time a butterfly lands on a tiny hand.
And to my family and friends, who more often than not, believe in me and my writing even when I have my doubts.
It’s Only Natural is a collection of poetry delving into the many emotions, facets, and perceptions that connect the human experience to the world of nature. Humans have for years attempted to control, and contain the natural world, only to find that it is uncontainable. Nature has, and must always; prevail for the sake of humankind. The instances where man has “won” the competition with nature have been catastrophic, leaving less natural species on this planet and less for future generations to enjoy and respect.
This collection shines a light on the joys, and sorrows of the natural experience. It is my great hope that readers will enjoy reading it as the author had experiencing and writing the verses.
Delicate silken sheets
Float and Flutter and Glide,
on billowing current that washes over
an ever-changing rainbow tide
feeling the spray of the stemmed river below
beyond metamorphosis,
a wonderful place to be
Alive and Flying and Free.
a mere speck in the human world
but Oh,
what a speck
What a Glorious, Magical, Musical speck!
To create wonderment in a child’s eyes
and Dust the fields,
spreading beauty everywhere
to carry the essence of Dreams,
across the souls
of child and adult alike.
To know the whisper
of tree and flower,
and call the bounty
of man’s world
your own.
