A
story of an elephant is what I have for you.
I bet you don’t
know everything that elephants can do.
There
once was an old elephant, with big ears and small eyes
Her name
was Granny Storyphant, and she was very wise.
She
knew all about here and now, and also long ago
and she remembered
everything she ever had to know.
She
knew what elephants can eat, which bushes, leaves and trees
and
found the safest path to follow, with the greatest ease.

Her
troop of thirty elephants would let old Granny lead
Because the
Bushveldt was her home, she’d show them where to feed.
Had
you been there, you would have seen that with her walked a calf
For
every step his granny took, he took four and a half.
He
was the youngest elephant, still drinking from his mummy.
His name
was Eddie elephant and he was quite a dummy.
He
had so many questions about where and how and when
And why and why
not and what for and where the road will end.
