What is Colon Cleansing?
As in all cases medical, it is strongly recommended that if you have any concers about your health that you contact your General Practitioner for a consultation and check-up.
That said, colon cleansing is receiving much attention today because we live in a toxic world; our total environment is loaded with all kinds of toxic pollutants: chemicals, pesticides and petrochemicals; pharmaceutical drugs and processed foods are also common. Even though the facts about our perilous environment can be overpowering and frightening, we do not have to be browbeaten by them. In fact, we can take action to protect ourselves.
Colon cleansing is a means of removing from the colon, or bowel, all toxic material so that it is freeed up to fulfil its normal purpose of keeping the body in good health. However, the medical profession is divided about the advisability of colon cleansing, or having a colonic, or colonic irrigation. Some argue that the colon is quite good at maintaining a good waste disposal function without assistance from external agencies. On the other hand, with colonics, which are used in hospitals, etc, in preparation for a patient having a colonoscopy, there is always the risk of infection or even perforation of the bowel. It can lead to dehydration and cause a rise in electrolytes which can do damage to the health if the recipient heart or kidney problems.
However, the health of the colon can be a good indicator of the overall health of the body. This book is a layman's guide to a few issues that suround the colon and its health. It opens up areas which could be explored further by anyone interested enough in doing it.
There is a growing interest in finding out about colon cleanses, which are the best colon cleanse products to use, and is a home colon cleanse as effective as one done, say, in a specialised unit. Are there all natural colon cleanse products that can be used, and will these deliver the detox that is desired? Does a colon cleanse down through diet really work, or is the entire colon cleanse thing a scam? Is there anyway where free colon cleanses can be had, or does onw have to join a specific programme to achieve this?
This book will not tell you how to colon cleanse, but it will try to explain what a colon cleanse is and what the health benefits that are in it for you.
Safe and Easy Colon Cleansing
Given its importance for the proper functioning of the body, the colon and its health is virtually neglected by most people. So having a safe and easy colon cleanse may be very important. The importance of this organ to your health is seriously underestimated. Health conscious people today are more aware of the need for proper colon care, and this may include a safe and easy colon cleanse. If your colon is unhealthy, the overall health of your body will be affected negatively, since its job is to rid the body of waste. As it does this, it also cleanses the body. Colon cancer is one of the many problems that afflict people, and cases of this disease have increased in the last decade, mainly in men, but not only in men.
Other problems include constipation, also caused by an ineffectively working colon and lack of fibre-based foods in the diet; this is one reason for this condition. Linked to this is the discomfort of haemorrhoids, which are really enlarged veins, and also caused by a lack of fibre in the diet. Lesser problems, such as, bad breath, headache, nausea, stomach pain, bloating, insomnia, irritation, depression, lethargy, backache or loss of appetite without any visible causes, are also caused by colon-related shortcomings.
To ensure a healthy colon you must have a balanced diet, sufficient sleep and appropriate exercise. A fibre-based diet keeps the colon in proper working order, and is the most natural way of getting a safe colon cleanse that is easy to achieve. This helps to keep the walls of the colon clean. Regular exercise reduces stress safely.
Another cleansing agent is linseed, and drinking at least six glasses of water daily helps to cleanse the entire body and release harmful toxins.
An efficient colon will allow you to have two to three bowel movements per day. If this is not normal for you, there is retained in the colon a high level of waste material, and you may be suffering from poor colon health. A safe and easy colon cleanse will solve this problem, but women in the last trimester of pregnancy should not undergo colonic irrigation. If you are unsure, please contact your medical professional.
