Dashboard: A customizable screen of site information.
Content: Create, manage and find content. Manage user comments.
Structure: Create new content types, manage blocks, menus, tags and contributed modules.
Appearance: Set, install and update themes.
People: Manage existing users, or create new user account. View a list of who’s on the site.
Modules: Install, update, enable and disable the Core and downloaded modules that make up your site.
Configuration: Configure site information.
Reports: View information about site activity, security and updates.

A customizable list of internal shortcuts.
Add content: Create content.
Find content: Find content.
Edit shortcuts: Add shortcuts to the Shortcut Bar.

From any overlay, click the plus (+) button to the right of the overlay name.

The shortcut for that overlay now displays in the Shortcut Bar.
OR
Copy the URL of the page or overlay to create a shortcut to.

Click the Edit shortcuts link on the right of the Shortcut Bar. This opens the Default overlay.

Type the name of the shortcut and paste the URL in the Path field.
Click the Save button.
In the page or overlay of the shortcut, click the minus (-) button to the right of the overlay name.

Confirm that you want to delete the shortcut.

Click the Edit shortcuts link on the right of the Shortcut Bar.
Click the delete link for the shortcut.
Confirm that you want to delete the shortcut.

In the Toolbar, click the Configuration button. This will open the Configuration overlay.
In the User Interface section, click the Shortcuts link.

Click the Add shortcut set link.
Add a Set name.
Click the Create new set button. This opens the overlay for the new Shortcut Bar.
From here you can add or delete shortcuts from the new shortcut bar.

In the Toolbar, click the Hello admin link.
Click the Shortcuts tab.
Choose the Shortcut set to use.
Click the Change set button.

In the Toolbar, click the People button.
In the Operations column, click the edit link for the user.

Click the Shortcuts tab.
Choose the Shortcut set to use.
Click the Change set button.

In the Toolbar, click the People button.

Click the Permissions tab.
Scroll to the Shortcut section.
Mark the appropriate checkbox for each user in the Select any shortcut set permission.

Drupal 7 Dashboard
The Dashboard is a customizable overlay screen of site information.

In the Toolbar, click the Dashboard button. The Dashboard overlay is displayed.

Recent content: New content added to the site will be listed here.
Search form: Search for content on your site.
Who’s new: As members are added, they are listed here.
Customize dashboard: Add additional blocks to the Dashboard.

Click the Customize dashboard link.
The Recent comments and Who’s online blocks can be dragged and dropped into the layout.
The Recent content, Search form and Who’s new blocks can also be moved to either the left or right column.

Click the Add other blocks link. This opens the Configure available dashboard blocks overlay.
Click the drop down next to the block you want to add.
Select the area to add the block.
Areas: Main, Sidebar, Inactive and Other blocks.

From the Configure available dashboard blocks overlay, click the Configure link in the Operations column of the block you want to customize.
In the Toolbar, click the Modules button.
(Un)check Dashboard click the Save configuration button.

Populate the Title (required) and Body fields.
When nodes are grouped together, Drupal limits the number of characters displayed to the first 600 and adds a Read more link.

Populate the Summary text box.
Note: The summary does not have to include the same text as the article.
In the Toolbar, click Structure Click Content types Click manage display in the Basic page section.

Click Teaser Click the widget in the Body field.
Change the Trim length field to the desired number of characters.

Menu settings: Add a tabbed menu for this page, click Provide a menu link.
Add a title and description, which will be used as a tooltip.

Revision information: See a date, time, user stamp and any notes for the page, click Create new revision.
URL path settings: Show and alternative URL in the browser’s address bar, as opposed to the node number.
Comment Settings: Allow users with the permission to post comments.
Authoring information: Change the author and post date of the page.
Publishing Options: Publish the page, promote it to the front page and ensure it is at the top of the page.
As with any changes made, be sure to click the Save button.
