Searching for the dragon II
Foreword
Searching for the dragon II is a prelude to Searching for the dragon, a novel about the adventures and discoveries of a traveller I call Dragon. It’s a tale told in poems, words and quotes. This short collection of poems and quotes are just some of which will be used in the novel.
To understand my love for writing poetry and lyrics I should possibly start with the first poem I ever wrote. The first poem I wrote was in standard one or grade four as an exercise and when the class teacher read my poem she immediately discounted it as my own work, that I had either plagiarised it or had one of my older family members write it and that feeling of pride I had about my very first poem was left in tatters in front of my school friends as the teacher scolded me. In looking back I feel my rebellious nature to schooling and what it stood for began. As best as I can remember this is the poem which came to me while sitting on our front veranda and a feather drifted by on the breeze.
The feather
I saw a ship come sailing by,
It had no stern it had no bow,
It had no men to man her decks,
She had no masts, she had no sails,
I saw a feather come floating by
I never wrote another poem or any other form of expressive word until I was in my late twenties when I wrote a poem to a lady I had met. The unfortunate thing about this poem was that it wasn’t written from the heart but more to impress. At least for me it was a step taken in the right direction.
My hope as it shall be with all my books, is that on each page the reader will find some positive inspiration for their day or some uplifting thought about their lives and how they see themselves and that when life is viewed with an open heart, spirit and soul it can be fun, interesting and happy.
"Be magic and dance softly with your dreams"
Is one of my quotes I use quite often to explain to people that living life can be as magic as you choose to make it and any dream they may have if danced with on a daily basis will in all probability come to true. Live your dreams daily and daily small parts of your dream come true.

Beyond
Beyond the boundaries of knowing,
Into an adventure of inner discovery,
Skipping toward alluring enchantment,
Riding wave upon wave of pure serenity,
Destinations of been in the instant,
Experiencing perfection in offering totality,
Above the levels of light and love,
Finding new plains in open honesty,
Everything we are melding together,
A symphony of sharing, loving and felicity
When a person begins to believe in themselves and how that inner power they possess, that light within which is almost always reflected in their eyes is mostly of a positive nature, who and what they attract to them is mostly of a positive nature.
Drinking the dawn
Rippling songs arise in the East,
Moon filled night rides away in the West,
Silence thunders an orchestral pause,
Sipping the honeyed gold of the dawn,
She stretched out before me,
Languishing in enticing beauty,
My senses drank the vision before me,
Euphoric condition in the mead of morn,
Feeling her kisses upon my naked skin,
Gasping as she caresses my breath,
Behind closed eyes seeing all she is,
Every sense fulfilled in the love she gives,
Inward radiance heating spirit and soul,
Heart pulsing caught in the rhythm of hers,
Beauty around flows into the chalice we share,
Perfection in the caring she offers and gives,
