Excerpt for The Jury Of Evil Science by Anubhav Saha, available in its entirety at Smashwords

Stop right there! I said as the criminals sprang away into the crowed. I threw a basket at them I ran after them as they dazed into the outskirts of the city

“Who are you’ the theft asked me

“I am Henry Coltsmith “I replied who you to are.

We ran full speed and suddenly they tossed a garbage can at me I tripped over it and fell as they ran away I managed to catch my breath and ran after them but no one was there it was full of misty air which smelt like 5 years old food

I made my way into a building and the found a torch; there was a huge hole in the floor. It linked to the basement.

I cleared some dust on the torch and banged it a few times but all that happened was a sound. Then finally it lit up I quickly jumped into the hole the sour smell increased the more deeper I went the more the smell.

Before I decided to call it a day I suspected the hole it was not leading to a basement but what could have caused it .

I looked over it but I found nothing

“911, Do you copy?” my walkie-talkie buzzed.

“Failure “I replied but what could have caused this hole.

I sipped my glass of wine.

“Chief, I would like to know a bit more on the case” I said to the chief of police.

“Yes see this file” he replied giving me a file.

I learnt that the people I was chasing were

Burnto Cretian and one was Redoin saint.

They are suspected of triple murder.

Their background was a bit to good but I realised they were dropped out because they did not have enough money they also won prizes in science fairs.
