Generating Traffic to Your Website
If YOU want to be successful in the seminar business, you need to have a website that CLOSES people on attending. The only objective way to measure the success of your seminar site is to look at a piece of data called AVERAGE VISITOR VALUE(AVV).
To compute this number you take the total number of registration dollars your site generates and divide that number by the total number of visitors to the site. For example, if you generate $20,000 in total registration dollars and you had 1,000 people visit the site, your AVV would be $20 per visitor.
I'm not sure how well other sites do, but I CAN tell you that I have a site that promotes one of my events that does INCREDIBLY well for me. I'll be using that site as a template to show YOU how to create a site that maximizes YOUR AVV.
My name is Fred Gleeck. I have two primary areas of expertise. Seminar marketing and information marketing. My site, SeminarMarketingExpert.com is always up at the top of the search engines for keywords related to the topic of seminar marketing and promotion.
FredGleeck.com, my "main" site, is at the very top for multiple keywords having to do with information marketing. I see seminars and seminar marketing as a subset of the information marketing field.
For more information about me, please visit FredGleeck.com or SeminarMarketingExpert.com. Both of these sites offer some valuable free resources you can take advantage of. All you have to do is click on the FREE links on each of the sites.
Over the past 30 years, I've done over 1500 seminars. Most of these have been self-promoted events. Some of them I've used other speakers, but most of them I've done entirely on my own.
I’ve NEVER lost money on an event.
In this article, I'd like to share with you how to create a website that MAXIMIZES the number of people who attend your events.
LET'S GET STARTED!
I’ll be using my site, FredInfoBootcamp.com as the template to show YOU how to put together a great seminar site. Again, it’s only “great” because it has a very high AVV. I’m not making any judgements about any other elements of the site. OBJECTIVELY, since I’m trying to maximize revenue, it’s a “great” site.
Since this site does so well, I’ll walk you through each of the elements I have and use on that site.
My suggestion is that you turn on your computer, open up a web browser and go to FredInfoBootcamp.com and follow along while you read this article. That way you can see what and why I did various things on the site.
Creating Your Website Headline
There are three components to your Website Headline.
Pre-Headline
When people first find your website, the first thing they see is whatever is at the very top of the page. At the VERY top of my site, you see something that’s called a PRE-HEADLINE.
It’s not the “real” headline, but it sets up the main or real headline. In my case, I’ve used the line: “This Ain’t Your Grandma’s Seminar”. I’m not suggesting you copy what I’ve done here. For me, this was an effective way to grab the visitors attention, AND it’s fits my style.
There is so much out there in my field that I wanted to say something shocking to let people know this would not be the SAME OLD STUFF.
Think about what YOU should use as a PRE-HEADLINE. It should “set up” your main headline.
