How to be a Lover

Love slowly. Give lots of Thank You-s.

Run towards each other, Let Peace fill the spaces.

Take your time, rush together,

Hold hands, walk apart.

Spend time apart,

Twinkle your eyes,

Reach across a crowded room.

Give privacy.

Don’t demand their thoughts.

Take time to stroke.

Don’t make them yours, play silly games.

Hide under the bedclothes, share food,

Play Ladies and Gentlemen, Doctors and Patients.

Find places to hide,

Give each other space, lots of it.

Don’t be jealous, enjoy each other's differences.

Live in different worlds. Then share them.

Share a fire together, sit by a fire alone.

Touch with respect, love with agreement.

Play at being rough.

Hold them like you would a baby bird,

Hold so that you melt together.

Enfold each other like golden syrup.

Stand strong, singly.

Be yourself and enjoy who you are,

Enjoy who they are.
