To You Know Who – A poem of Appreciation
When a dream becomes reality
and the reality exceeds the dream
its a remarkable thing to experience
the flow of energy
the feeling of intimacy
when the one
you want wants you
and you
merge
from
two into one
experience heaven on earth,
floating, spirit soaring
trying to get a glimpse of the perfect moment
the perfect combination
when desires explode
souls connect
and you know
this is it
you've met
your souls match, your hearts mate
and it's more than words can express
more than feelings can show
and
you just know
Tell Me
Tell me
what it is
you see in me
because what you see
makes me feel like a
Nubian Goddess
riding a winged horse
soaring high above the clouds
Tell me what you feel
that makes me feel like an
Egyptian Princess
walking through fields of roses and lilies
past springs of pure water
Tell me what you know
that I don't know
about myself
what it is you see in me
that enables you
to experience me
deep inside and outside
on a level no other has reached or dared to explore
with you
I am not the little girl in pig tails
holding her doll, tears streaming,
lost, scared and alone
with you
I am a
strong, confident
African American Woman
the way you make me feel
delicious, safe
BEAUTIFUL
with you
I am… me
Tell me
what mirror you use
to view inside my mind
venture into my heart
journey around my soul
because it's wonderful
the way you see me
so I can see me
and know the truth
behind the years of lies
tell me
What They Don't Tell You?
What they don't tell you is that
life is scary
marriage is hard
love is dangerous
money never flows the way you want it to,
when you want it too.
love never comes easy,
but hard, forceful and strong.
problems are plentiful and
solutions sometimes few.
What they don't tell you is that
friends should be held close
and friendships treasured because
you never know where you may end up
or when you will need a friend.
A true friend.
What they don't tell you is that
fear is false
love is pure
and God is real.
What they don't tell you is that
truth is power
but lies are even more powerful
and hate is strong, but love is stronger.
What they don't tell you is that
you should find joy where you can
live life to the fullest
love as much as you can, as big as you can
say thank you and please and your welcome
When someone sneezes, say bless you.
Hold the door open for a stranger.
leave a big tip when you get bad service
cause you may make that persons day.
speak your mind without fear or censure
speak your soul openly and fully
speak your heart justly and truthfully
speak the language that we have long forgotten.
compassion. hope. tenderness. mercy. faith.
life is hard. be kind.
what they don't tell you is all you need to know.
pay close attention, there will be a test later.
It is up to you,
whether you pass or fail.

The truth lies
in his lying eyes
The truth feels painful
but I am now free
Cause I spoke a truth
The Truth
of
my heart
my mind
my body
my soul
The truth is freeing
and oh so joyous
for
now I am finally
free
From the demons of my dreams
All because
I spoke the truth
and finally said yes
to being positive over negative
happy over sad
righteous over ignorant
sane over insane
I spoke the truth
because I had faith
I spoke the truth
because I had love
I spoke the truth
because I heard God
and he said,
"It will be okay.
You are loved, my child.
