The Town That God Forgot

The Curse Of New Hampshire, And The Salem Witch Trials

As the years start to fly by, and I begin my second marriage, I wanted to make a mark. This is my imprint of the years I leave behind. These are what have survived of my 30 years of writing poetry. Lots have fallen by the wayside. So it’s time to start again.

This is the legacy I leave for my children.

Nicholas John Simon McGregor. (Spot the connection)

Christian Ian Michael McGregor (after the fathers)

Jordan Andrew Lee McGregor (should have been Brandon)

Owen Martin Brendan McGregor (unseen but still loved)

Also for my wife Sarah Louise, thank you for just being you.

Also my late father Michael Walter McGregor (still in the thoughts)

And my mother Brenda Margaret McGregor (I owe you more than I have)

And to all my family and friends, I hope you can relate.

Jealousy

As we kept from falling,

Apart at the seams,

Did you not hear me

Whisper while you dreamed?

From a scream to a sigh,

You whispered goodbye,

It echoed throughout,

A dark rift in time.

Left with one question,

A pure heartless suggestion,

Were you ever mine,

Did you echo my whisper?

Man on the Moon

If you partially open,
a tear filled eye
The world becomes a blurred vision,
Of a giant diamond crystal.
When we died, I lied
so much so, that you could never know.
A part of me just wanted to cry,
Now it’s almost time to say a last goodbye.
And if you believe
they put a man on the moon,
you might also believe
that she'll come home soon.

Barren

If I were to write you a love song,
would you have heard the words that I sung?

How would it touch your heart,
when you don’t have one?

Why did you take my son from me,
and leave me feeling so numb?

I still see your face,
and you wear that torturing smile,

And because you broke my heart,
tonight I’ll take my life.

Will you shed a tear,
when you know why I have gone?

To share the ground with my father,
Because you took my son.

Umbrella

Don't you ever dare to think,
I could be the one,
I’m not the man to save your life,
I couldn't even try.
Don't you ever dare think,
That I could be the one,
To shine a path of light,
For we were born from darkness,
You, and I.

Christmas Day Alone

With your sins forever etched,
deep into your soul,
you are the only one,
who will ever truly know.

You made me feel whole,
But then you took it all,
And now I’m forever falling,
Into the deepest darkest void.

It just,

Makes no sense,

In my head,

Anymore.

Life

Life is but a cinema screen.
Your actions and words,
Provide your life story.
But it’s always there,

That thought

In the back of your mind,
you know that the curtains
are always slowly closing.

Atlanta Rain

I cried for the loss of your passion
I cry for the tears you both cried
I cried for the chance never given
the one chance that I had of life.

I would have found love in your laughter
I would have found strength in your tears
to comfort you as you grew older
to be there to help calm your fears.

My name is simply Atlanta
I am a spirit lost to faith
my life meant to be is forgotten
All that is left, is Atlanta, my name.

But I still found my liberty
I still found my life
I am a spirit left dancing
in days of cool summer rain.

Empty Hearts

It’s a cold, cold night,
Here in Whitley Bay,
And I can hear,
No sounds, but the sea.
