PREFACE
During my twenty five years experience in the the jewelry industry, I have sold diamond engagement rings to hundreds of men. I did my best to educate my customers on diamond quality; and I helped them to purchase the most beautiful diamond possible for their budget.
Unfortunately, I also witnessed countless numbers of men who had been ripped off by some of the less ethical jewelry stores. They had been sold poor quality diamonds at high prices.
This guide is the culmination of my many years of experience. I have seen many other books and guides on "How to Buy a Diamond" over the years. They all pretty much seemed to be flawed. They were either so brief that they didn't provide any real useful information, or they were so technical they were difficult to grasp.
When I wrote this guide , my main goal was to make it practical. I wanted to provide a guide that the average guy would be easily able to understand. This guide is not designed to make you into an overnight gemologist. It is designed to teach you how to pick out the most brilliant diamond for your budget and save money. You will not be overly burdened with charts and diagrams about angles and percentages.
This guide is small enough to actually take with you on your hunt for the perfect diamond. I am sure that you will refer to it often. Have it in front of you when you are talking to those slick salespeople. It will give you a leg up on the competition when they see that you are one of the few customers that actually understands the differences in diamonds.
