THE CAPITAL DIET
This diet was something that worked for me and as with any diet requires that you put and effort into it to be successful. Also as with any other health related information only you and your doctor should ever decide what is best for you and your health. So while this worked for me you have to decide your own way to get into shape so this article makes no guarantees nor does it make any health related statements that you should rely on. If you try this it is at your own risk and we take no part in it. So here is my story.
Being an Attorney afforded great opportunity to gain weight. I sat at a desk most of the day and was able to snack at will and could always run down and get a milk shake. I had put on 70 pounds since graduating and did not realize how big I was until I made a mission trip and was watching the video being shown at my church. Then I decided that I had to loose weight.
I had lost some weight a couple of years ago on one of those protein diets that lasted about as long as my ability to stay away from bread. The loss of 20 lbs. was short lived as I quickly put it back on. These frustrations lead me to 3 years of not worrying about it until the arrival of the video.
It seemed that no matter the amount of exercise I did I was stuck at the weight that I was at and if anything it would inch up ever so often. But I was determined so I took a number of steps to remedy the situation using the analytical mind that God gave only to discover that loosing some would happen as long as I staved myself and did not let myself eat the things that tasted so good. Even with the discipline of a monk I was able to loose a few pounds only to reach a plateau and get stuck no matter how much I stayed away from the chocolate chip cookies and ice cream or both mixed together in a bowl with a chocolate milk shake on the side after having eaten the 24 oz ribeye steak and baked potato with sour cream and real butter and fried onion rings……. Sorry lets get on with the story here.
I finally reach the conclusion, that no matter what I did, the cake was going to win and that I would just have to stay fat and just work on not getting larger. That was until that blasted video pushed me to try to do something else and try I did and once again reached a painful plateau and once again got stuck. Then something of a miracle happened. I had been appointed, by the luck of the draw, to defend a man that had been charged with capital murder and the district attorney had informed us that he was going to seek the death penalty. Getting ready for the trial was a long process with the last month taking hours to prepare and thus allowing me plenty of time to snack and try out the local pastries and other things that only led to my misery concerning my diet and my weight.
It was what I learned during the trial that led me to the ultimate discovery that has made a difference in how I have lost weight. The process is not one that is fast, it is not a fad diet, it is a life style change made easy. The process is one that will take a few months but once you have the hang of it you should be able to drop those pounds and keep them off painlessly.
The following should only be used if you have made sure that your doctor approves, Once again make sure that you are fat and not suffering from some disease where you are the only one that thinks your fat but in reality are the poster child for a nation suffering from starvation. And you need to make sure that your doctor approves.
Remember that this book is about life style change and how to do it the easy way. You did not add that extra 5000 pounds over night and no matter what you do they will not disappear overnight. And if your starve them off then they will only come back as soon as you get hungry. What I discovered is that the major enemy of dieting is the fear of not having food. So I eat and eat. I also discovered that if I know that in the near future I can eat what ever I want I am able to maintain focus for short periods of time.
