Your child’s birthday is getting closer and your plan is to provide a memorable occasion that will last a life time. Organizing any event can be stressful; as there are some things that can go wrong. Your brain starts collecting from its information store and brings back terror!!! All the bad things that have been portrayed in films and comedy shows come to the fore front of your mind. The food fight, the dog eating the cake, the birthday child in tears and the list goes on.
The what if monster starts its work: “What if, no one shows?” What if, that goes wrong or this goes wrong!!!!!
I’ve been entertaining at children’s birthday parties for over 20 years. In fact being a family entertainer is the only way you can still get an invite and be over the age of 10! I’ve been to modest parties and large millionaire parties.
The perfect party has certain ingredients and no matter who or what your background the ingredients should remain the same. I have three children of my own, two boys and a girl. My children must have had over 21 parties between them. I’ve had parents congratulate me on several occasions on how good our parties have been, and then said “Well you’re a children’s entertainer; so if you can’t do a good party, no one can”! I’ll have to agree with them. I’m willing to hand over to you, the secrets to a fantastic party.
I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of parties and all the successful ones have the same things in common. I’ll be sharing those common ingredients and secrets with you. I’ll go through what has gone wrong and why, how it can be avoided and how to have a fantastic event on a small budget or a large budget and make a successful event every single time.
Children’s parties are enjoyable and fun, you just need to get the basics right. In this book I’ll be covering all the basics and which rules to follow, for your family to have “The time of your lives”!
Below is a list of ingredients to follow for an outstanding birthday party

The first aim of this book is to give you a proven strategy that works, it has worked in over 2000 parties that I have performed at, and will continue to work into the future. You will also be benefiting from my loving wife’s experience who is also a puppeteer, face painter and party organizer. You will be receiving all the best ideas and tips from us both.
Children have different types of parties at different ages; you first have to choose the correct style of party for your child’s age group.
The first birthday:
You may be taking your child to baby groups, this is a great way for you not to feel isolated, your baby meets new friends and dads are welcome with open arms. Your child is not ready to have a traditional birthday party yet. I’ve discovered through experience that on this first birthday it should be a family occasion. It’s time to invite all the family, don’t expect this first birthday to be a children’s occasion, as it should be set up for the adults. It’s time to show off your baby’s new found skills.
If you can keep the numbers down, the best venue is your own home, because everyone knows where to find you. Your child is familiar with the surroundings and will feel calm and confident when meeting new people.
If you have a large family and you expect them all to turn up, then a hotel, coffee shop, restaurant or bar would be absolutely fine. The advantage of the hired place is it defines how long your guests will stay.
Most families have a two and half hour time span before they start running out of conversation, when hiring a room keep this to a maximum of 3 hours. I may be biased to the hiring of an entertainer, but as you may have bought this book in another country, the bias will have gone. I feel this would really contribute to your party. The entertainer does not need to be there for more than 35 minutes, see the entertainer section for the best choice.
The flea circus is one type of entertainment, this is so fun and I promise that no one will even see a flea, although people will start to scratch at just the mention!
Having an entertainer perform in the middle will reduce awkward silence!
