The sun was shining through the small bedroom window as the smell of bacon flowed from the kitchen. A quiet but stern voice came from in front of the bedroom door, “Get up Candy, it is time to eat.” Candy placed her swollen feet on the floor and began to walk toward the bathroom. She took care of her business and makes her way to the breakfast table. “Candy what are you going to do? We must know who the father of your baby is; you are walking around here big as a tick and eating up everything in sight. It is not fair to me, the other children or Jack.” Candy looked at her mother with tears in her eyes, “I can drop out of school and get a job,” replied Candy. “Who in their right mind is going to hire an eight months pregnant girl? You have not even been doing your fair share of work around here. I just don’t know what we are going to do,” said Candy’s mother.
