THE ULTIMATE POETRY COLLECTION 2002

BOOK TWO

TRAPPED

Imagination harms me when I’m feeling low

And inspires me to reach high

I’m caught between two worlds

Loosing sight of myself

I’m trying to wake up from this nightmarish web

Of deceit, love, loneliness

Whenever I seem to be untangling myself

From these long silver threads

I fall and crash into more

Darker and stronger then before

They squeeze me tight until I’m gasping for air

Press onto my skin until blood drips

My body’s captured and my soul’s enraptured

I can’t get away

SHORT SIGHTED

I can’t see anything far away

My vision is confined to a limited space

I’m hooped in a tiny circle of clarity

All else is a blur

I am short sighted

TOMB

I am alone in this tomb of doom

Air is humid and stale

I suffocate with every breath

Stench remains unbearable

To my delicate senses;

The body of the deceased does lie right before my eyes

Sure to have nightmares tonight

Never do I want to lie

Forever in a place like this

Rather be burnt to a crisp

And have my ashes freed

Then remain underground

Decaying in a light-less hole

LOVE SURVIVES

Oh I’ve tried to deny

But love survives

Yes love survives

Oh I’ve tried to keep my eyes dry

But love survives

Yes love survives

Pain floods through my veins

As love is recognised

I’m feeling low again

Rain is falling

As I stand alone

In the flooded gutters

I shiver as a frosty breeze

Breathes over me

Its touch warm

Compared to the ice

Wrapped around my heart

I weep from the pain

As I feel my heart

Beginning to beat again

Oh I’ve tried to deny

But love survives

Yes love survives

Oh I’ve tried to keep my eyes dry

But love survives

Yes love survives

Pain floods through my veins

As love is recognised

I’m feeling low again

I gaze out at

The starry sky

Empty cloudless space

Taking my face away

From the dirty window

I think how far I am

From the star

That makes my life bright

I sigh as night passes by

I am lost again

Oh I’ve tried to deny

But love survives

Yes love survives

Oh I’ve tried to keep my eyes dry

But love survives

Yes love survives

Pain floods through my veins

As love is recognised

I’m feeling low again

Staring longingly

At an old weathered picture

I feel the same way

As when I first lay

My eyes on you

You make my heart wild

My soul sings

I’m attracted to

No other person

I don’t know what to do

Without you

Oh I’ve tried to deny

But love survives

Yes love survives

Oh I’ve tried to keep my eyes dry

But love survives

Yes love survives

Pain floods through my veins

As love is recognised

I’m feeling low again

HUMAN FREEZER

I feel as though

I’m weighted down

With one-hundred years of pain

I’m feeling older

As each day passes

Insides getting colder

I’m a freezer again

Time’s ticking

Tick tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

Goes the clock

I’m sitting here crying

I’m sitting slowly dying

Tick tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

I’m stricken with grief

Keep glancing over pasts’ shoulder

But I have to move forward

Before my life is over

When I first said the words

I love you

I didn’t know how deep

Until after our incensed goodbye

Parting through evil eyes

When steam had cleared away

I then knew

My heart beat solely for you

Tick tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

Goes the clock

I’m sitting here crying

I’m sitting slowly dying

Tick tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

I’m stricken with grief

Keep glancing over pasts’ shoulder

But I have to move forward

Before my life is over

Years have passed by

You remain the main feature

In my mind

You crawled through my skin

Surfed on my veins

Claimed my heart

As a land of your own

On which you built your throne

Tick tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

Goes the clock

I’m sitting here crying

I’m sitting slowly dying

Tick tock

Tick tock

Tick tock

I’m stricken with grief

Keep glancing over pasts’ shoulder

But I have to move forward

Before my life is over
