It was hot enough to melt an IRS auditor's heart the day I met Oscar at his small town East Texas car lot. I'd sized up his used trucks and stepped into the tin shack that he called his office. An old electric fan moved the hot air around. Oscar hadn't come out to high-pressure me. He was the kind of guy who liked to let you nibble at the bait a while before he set the hook.
