GIVING IN
I can’t fight you any-more
I’m weary and worn
From ignoring the truth
Living life in scorn
Been hurting myself
As well as wounding you
I can’t continue on
Wallowing, dying, and crying
I need you
That fact is exact
So I may as well give in
And do what I need
So we can be happy
Once again

INSOMNIA
I’m awake
When I should be asleep
Insomnia has its hand on me
Can’t let it inundate me as before
Turning me into a zombie
Treading with heavy steps
Gazing with glassy eyes
Senses comatose
Don’t want to live as
The living dead
Ever again

BRIGHTER FUTURE
The waters are dark and deep
But have not completely inundated me
There’s still a small light above
Inspiring me not to give
The waters’ grip I can escape
A brighter future I can make

RAHIM
There was once a young man,
Named Rahim,
Who was tall, and very handsome.
He had short dark hair, a charming grin,
Brimmed to the brim with self-confidence.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Girls tripped at the sight of his stare,
And flocked all around for a second of his care -
Some brought food, others charms,
As they floated about wearing their best dresses;
His narcissism only grew.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
With dating,
Rahim was careless, and free -
He chose only the richest women,
With the highest level of beauty;
Certain that penny pressed peasants weren’t for him.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
This is how he came to be,
The beau of the towns’ beauty, who was named Jasmine -
She had hair as sleek as the finest silk,
Skin smooth, freckle free and clear,
Eyes translucent as the purest spring.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Jasmine loved Rahim dearly,
As he purposely led her to falsely believe,
That she was his only one,
Which he’d never leave,
Even in the afterlife.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
But one day at the towns market Jasmine found Rahim,
In the midst of kissing another in his arms;
Broken hearted she ran home in tears,
And immediately told her dad,
How Rahim had brought shame to her face.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
The father stormed out the house as he daughter lay and whined behind,
And found Rahim with a delicious girl all over him.
He angrily pushed the crowd away,
As he strode forward,
With a carnivorous desire to kill.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Rahim noticed Jasmines’ father,
As he stealthily strode towards him,
With a psychos’ black wide-eyed gaze;
He pushed the girl he was with away,
And ran through the busy street.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Amazingly fast was Jasmines’ dad,
But not fast enough for Rahim,
Who was as swift as a camel on sand.
With the aid of winged feet Rahim lost the old man completely,
As he ducked into the dark alleyway;
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Rahim emerged as a time lapse tick ensured he was safe,
And clumsily bumped into an old magician,
Who was in the midst performing a trick;
The performance was immediately blundered,
After Rahim's entrance.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
The old man became exceedingly vexed,
At the foolish young lout;
After he grabbed his wrists,
He led Rahim to his tent,
And angrily told him to sit.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Rahim was slightly amused,
As the magician moved about him,
Unaware a spell was being brewed,
One, which would come to,
Change him completely.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
Rahim left the tent,
And visited one for his girlfriends.
She instantly led him to her room -
But as she was busied with her undressing,
Rahim found himself jumping out the window.
Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
How to love;
Yes Rahim never knew,
Oh, he never knew,
Any feeling other then,
Egocentricity.
