Keep an avocado green until time to serve it, simply place the seed in the dish with the cut avocado.
Meatloaf will cook faster if you make it in small rounded loaves or even in muffin cups. Muffin cups make reheating leftovers a breeze!
Butter or grease the rim of a pan in which you cook rice or pasta so it won't boil over.
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
Line the bottom of the vegetable drawer in your refrigerator with a paper towel to absorb liquids that make veggies wilt.
Keep potatoes from budding by placing an apple in the bag with potatoes.
Keep brown sugar moist by storing it in an airtight container with a whole orange, lemon, or lime.
Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
Keep a cake longer by placing half an apple in the cake container when storing.
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips out the bottom.
Get the stuffing out of the turkey by placing a piece of CHEESECLOTH in the cavity then put in the stuffing. When done pull out the cheese cloth and the stuffing comes out.
Heat up leftover pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove, set heat to med-low and heat till warm. This keeps the crust crispy. No soggy microwave pizza.
Freeze some of the lemonade or fruit juice in ice trays and use to keep the juice cold without diluting the flavor.
Ease graham cracker crusts from the pan by dipping the pie pan in hot water before slicing and serving.
French toast is made crisper by adding a tablespoon of flour to the egg and milk mixture.
Heavy muffin papers set in muffin tins make excellent gelatin molds. Serve in papers or remove by placing muffin tins in warm water for a few minutes.

Leftover onion will keep much longer then the root is left intact – use top part first.
Use a pizza cutter to easily slice through flats of fudge and candy squares. Make sure the baking has been chilled or thoroughly set before cutting. The process is fast and easy and the result is nice, neat squares.
Try slathering mayonnaise on the outer sides of the bread instead of butter when making grilled cheese sandwiches. Makes a nice and crispy sandwich as well as tastes delicious.
Keep cookies moist and chewy by throwing a few slices of apple in your cookie jar to keep cookies soft.
Save the paper or foil wrap from blocks or squares of butter and use them to grease baking pans. Keep the paper refrigerated in a separate baggy. Not only do they do an effective job buttering the pans, it also puts to good use something we often toss freely.
