Introduction
These haiku, or haikus were written at the rate of one day over the year 2006. I know they may not be ‘true’ haiku or haikus, that they may in truth be senyrus or whatever, but there seem to be as many definitions of haiku as there are know-it-alls on the internet. They are all three lines and use the 5-7-5 syllable form. They were inspired by images in a book called “Offerings- Buddhist wisdom for every day” by Danielle and Olivier Follmi who were, and perhaps still are, the official photographers of the Dalai Lama. The book was published by Stewart Tabori and Chang from New York if you should feel the urge to track it down and follow along at home. If not, you can follow along with the images, sensations and feelings that these evoke in your own heart and mind.
Enjoy!
