He then worked with the Allen Keller Trio in Florida, New York City, Las Vegas and Reno. While in Reno, Felix joined a jazz-pop group, Nancy Lee and the Bachelors. The name for that would be, of course, Pirates of the Gulf of Aden and star some handsome guy with great eye makeup. Of course, very little of the above is true, but it sounds better than real life, and what did you expect from a writer of fiction? Seriously, I hope you enjoy reading "The Essence". At the age of six, he entered the great Sera Monastic University, Lhasa, where he studied until 1959, when the Chinese invasion of Tibet forced him into exile in India. Lamaâ€™s remarkable story is told in Vicki Mackenzieâ€™s book, Reincarnation: The Boy Lama (Wisdom Publications, 1996). Thousands of pages of Lama's teachings have been made available as transcripts, books and audio by the Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive, and most are freely available through the Archive's website.
